2. I lived in TN a very long time
and I hate to say it, but I think Thompson would win. I think Thompson "seems" just moderate enough that those BaptoRepublicans would be convinced he's NOT Bush and therefore is safe to vote for.

I'm sorry to say but if Gore couldn't win his home state against a simpleton like Bush than he sure as hell can't beat Thompson. And believe me, I think Fugly Fred is just as much an overrated hack as anybody else here.
