Opinions on Chris Cilizza, WP.com, who appears often on MSNBC?
Edited on Tue May-08-07 11:36 PM by babylonsister
I'm watching the KO repeat, and he just stated that most rethugs think this war is just and they think this is the way to go.
Funny, I'm not thinking even rethugs are thinking that.

1. Chris Cilizza is a Republican AND A tool......
Kinda of like a one man Politico.com; new to the scene, and being promoted quickly through the pundit ranks. He is so Standard CW, it ain't even funny.

2. What does CW mean? He's grown his hair, I noticed, and he's
spouting the talking points, which will surely lose points in my book.
Conversely, Dana Milbanks has (finally) gotten a bit snarky about this admin.
As for politico, that's another thread; why does KO, and other places, even credit them given that they're so partisan?

8. Haha!....I noticed that his "hair" "grew".......
Must be that he got a raise, and now can afford "Hair Club for Pundits"! Jonathan Alter should be the next to make an appointment.

11. Not really 'finally' for Milbank, about the snark - from October 2002:
For Bush, Facts Are Malleable
Presidential Tradition Of Embroidering Key Assertions Continues

By Dana Milbank
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, October 22, 2002; Page A01

President Bush, speaking to the nation this month about the need to challenge Saddam Hussein, warned that Iraq has a growing fleet of unmanned aircraft that could be used "for missions targeting the United States."

Last month, asked if there were new and conclusive evidence of Hussein's nuclear weapons capabilities, Bush cited a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency saying the Iraqis were "six months away from developing a weapon." And last week, the president said objections by a labor union to having customs officials wear radiation detectors has the potential to delay the policy "for a long period of time."

All three assertions were powerful arguments for the actions Bush sought. And all three statements were dubious, if not wrong. Further information revealed that the aircraft lack the range to reach the United States; there was no such report by the IAEA; and the customs dispute over the detectors was resolved long ago.

3. Worthless as tits on a boar hog
Plus he has that smug smirky self satisfied sort of demeanor you constantly see on these twerps. I don't know why Olbermann keeps having him on unless its some sort of corporste deal to showcase WP and Newsweek hacks on NBC.

7. That's what it is....Newsweek and MSNBC are "partners"....and since
Newsweek is owned by the Washington Post, it's one cozy family.

They compete with CNN who partners with ABC and owns the Times.

They all are in cahoots and intent on controlling our elections till we actually "do" something about it instead of repeating what they say.

4. Why do they (WaPO) continue to push the poison for this adminstration?
Edited on Tue May-08-07 11:30 PM by 48percenter
It's just dumbfounding. I read Politico when they first started up, but don't even go there anymore. To much koolaid sucking.

6. Sometimes he's right, but not often--if the GOPers in the Senate
are setting a Sept. deadline, it shows that they know already that the war is a dog that won't hunt, and thus they can remain loyal (President Bush, sir, we gave you one last chance) yet still look like they give a damn about our troops, their constituents, and this country. Win-win!

10. They ARE setting a Sept. deadline, but shows how little they regard
the soldiers out there now; they want to wait for FOUR months to make a decision? How many will die between now and then?
Fuck loyalty.

12. Absolutely--they can't even pretend they don't know how this will
all turn out anymore, and yet they play the game, buy more time--sick.

14. I didn't hear that, but I read his poliical "blog" in the WP, and I don't really see an agenda...
other than providing political junkies with facts, figures and speculation. He does Top Ten Senate, House and Governor seats most likely to change party in '08, for example, from time to time, and they've been overwhelmingly tipped to Dems. He picked winners and losers of both the Dem and GOP debates, and his picks were pretty much the same as mine.
