Nevada Caucus Poll for self identified likely caucus goers
http://www.lvrj.com/news/7358326.html

"Nevada Democrats want Hillary Clinton to be their presidential nominee, while the Republican field is practically a four-way tie, according to a new Review-Journal poll of partisans who say they will participate in the state's nominating contests next year.

John McCain held a slim lead on the Republican side with just 19 percent of the vote. But Mitt Romney (15 percent), Fred Thompson (13 percent) and Rudy Giuliani (12 percent) were all close behind.

Clinton would get 37 percent of the vote if a Democratic caucus were held today, holding a healthy lead over John Edwards (13 percent) and Barack Obama (12 percent), according to the poll."

<snip>

"The poll, conducted Monday to Wednesday statewide, surveyed Republican and Democratic partisans who said they planned to participate in the 2008 presidential nominating caucuses. Three hundred voters were surveyed on each side. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 6 percentage points."

Big MOE but Clinton is still kicking ass.

1. That's too bad since Clinton is a weaker gen. elec candidate than Obama and Edwards
according to all the polls that have been coming out.

2. Yes but Obama and Edwards are not the choice of the Democrats
In that same polling.

And she now is not losing to any Republicans. In fact other than Ras in whcih she ties Rudy (which I certainly think is accurate) she is kicking GOP butt.

Its still a long hard road ahead but I think proclamations that she could not win the general were a bit premature.

4. They polls don't indicate she can't win, just that she will have a harder time winning
than Edwards or Obama. There are many DUers who think that our victory in 08 is guaranteed, but I don't. If the Republicans nominate their strongest candidate (Dame Rudy, IMO) and we nominate our weakest candidate (Hillary) 08 is going to be rough.

Yes, Hillary appears to be the current choice for Democrats, as was Mondale and Dukakis. Democrats make mistakes too.
