Giuliani wins over all Democrats? What went wrong?
A quote from Salon's "War Room" section:

It's way too early for polling to mean too much in the 2008 presidential race, and national polls aren't the ones that really matter anyway. But for what it's worth, a national Quinnipiac University poll out this morning provides a look at possible head-to-head matchups: Rudy Giuliani leads Barack Obama 44-41 percent, Hillary Clinton 49-40 percent and Al Gore -- who isn't in the race -- 48-41 percent; John McCain is tied with Obama at 42 percent but leads Clinton 46-41 and Gore 47-41.

How did this happen? Giuliani was supposedly this corrupt, bed-hopping politician that denied the air of New York was poisonous after September 11. How is it this awful choice is beating Democrats hands-down?

1. Well, nobody asked ME...
I wouldn't vote for him if he was the only person running.

2. Reminder: Rudy has not been challenged by anyone including
his challengers in the primary. He doesn't do well when challenged and put on the defensive. Everyone can lose popularity under the right circumstances, case in point, Joe McCarthy.

6. And I would bet that a lot of people that
have had dealings with Rudy in the past are just waiting to talk to anyonw who will listen. Look, this guy is having a free ride so far, wait 'til the questions start about his marriages, his handling of terrorism after the first Trade Center bombing, his "quality of life" laws, his shady business dealings, his shady friends, etc. A full tub, slopping over, believe me. And what about trying to have the election cancelled so he could stay in office a little longer? Please. He's got a lot to worry about. I just wonder if Chris Matthews is going to kiss him full on the lips tonight.

7. Exactly
From what it looks like, he's running a very amateur campaign and is out of his element.

Will have to find them, since Salon failed to mention it. He was the only one leading him.

12. I will find the poll at Daily Kos. Edwards was the only one leading Rudi.
Odd Salon left him out. Don't you think?

I wish someone would help me find that poll at Kos from a day or so ago.

Leaving Edwards out of a poll?

20. Actually Giuliani IS a corrupt, bed-hopping who traded NY lives for
political points after 9/11. He's also the MSM darling, just like Smirk was 8 years ago. Get ready for 8 more years of the same stuff that we've had since 2000

I'm sorry, you'll never get me to believe that. Gore has been on fire since the Oscars, while McCain has done one dumb thing after another.

25. Name recognition and 9/11.
Sadly, the media will prop him up just like they did * eight years ago.

Also, I find it hard to believe that McCain can be leading any Democrat, seeing that he has blatently shilled for Dubya.
