We are one President away from all of the following
For LGBT people ENDA and anti hate crimes legislation. Both are likely to pass Congress but be vetoed by Bush.
For people who care about Iraq any Democrat will end it, no Republican will.
For those who care about competent government we are one President away from Regent University no longer being the most represented university in our Justice Department.
We are one President away from US Attorneys who don't serve their party above their country.
We are one President away from a FEMA which isn't a disaster itself.
We are one President away from a government where the civil rights division is staffed by civil rights attorneys, an EPA staffed by people who care about the enviroment, a labor department staffed by people who care about laborers, and in short a government filled with people who actually care about government.
This election matters it is as simple as that.

2. It's Pat Robertson's law school and it's bigger on the bible
and total loyalty to the GOP than it is on law or the responsibility of an officer of the court to uphold established law.

It's religion over country, partisanship over patriotism, and Robertson's sickening misinterpretation of Christianity over all.

4. great post..
i love your optimism.

and folks don't get that back when things looked truly dark, we ended up voting in a democratic
house and senate.

it's awesome to think of how far we've come to wrestling back an almost 3 branch government after the worst dictatorship takeover of america in history of our country.

and i feel that like you say, any democrat in office will cause the rubber band to snap so far back in the right direction, we will go from dark ages to evoled era in a matter of years.

your optimism is awesome.. thanks for post....

and I love that you put LGBT issue first, it is truly the biggest and most embarrassing lack of civil rights in this country to be gay and be treated worse than the kind of second class citizen that african american's endured prior to the civil rights act of 60's. i love that you get how so many people are abused and that this one issue will do a lot toward making this country a model for the world again, if we get lgbt issues in the limelight.

10. We are one President away from judges being nominated who will uphold the law & administer justice
rather than propagating an extreme RW ideology.
