Another reason to hope for a calm Hurricane Season - bush legacy
IF A MAJOR HURRICANE PLOWS THROUGH THE COAST THIS SUMMER, THE MISSISSIPPI NATIONAL GUARD WILL HAVE TO RELY ON BORROWED TROOPS TO MAINTAIN ORDER AND RENTED EQUIPMENT TO CLEAR DEBRIS FROM STREETS.

All because a spoiled little snot just had to be a war president and intentionally lied to get us into a war because he knew if he told the truth he wouldn't be able to dress up in a flight suit.

Thanks george, being a typical conservative republican you are doing a huckuva job.

1. I wonder to what extent this will finally wake up the sleeping hordes?
Too bad it will take devasting destruction and loss of lives to make some people realize the truth.
It is so sad that so many will not care unless it affects them directly.

2. If we have a hurricane on the coast again
and if someone has their home destroyed, they will thank God for the rags on their body and say what a great Governor haley barbour is.

3. Sad, isn't it?

I've come to the conclusion that Republicanism is a DISEASE. Nothing else can explain Mississippi's blind allegiance to Barbour, Cochran, Lott, et al...Time after time, our fellow citizens vote agains their own best interests, and nothing can convince them otherwise. I've just about stopped trying. Here in Stone County and Wiggins, most of the city and county government offices are still in Democratic hands, but it's an election year and anything can happen. ;(

6. Hello neighbor
There have been recent rumblings coming from the coast that Gene Taylor just ain't conservative enough by gawd. He often votes for that damn liberal agenda. Gene Taylor was navigating a piroque rescuing people right after the hurricane then driving a bulldozer to help in the cleanup. And he has mightily crossed swords with the insurance companies and yet he's not conservative enough. There have been some really disgusting humans run against him in the past few elections.

are threatened...I.E. along the coast, may be stymied by those representatives of inland states who feel that their citizens should not have to subsidize the misfortunes of those who live along the coasts.

Gee, and here all along I figured we lived in THE SAME COUNTRY..and our taxes were all being paid into the same national trreasury.
and who subsidizes those inland folks when they are hit by tornados and droughts and such..and local rivers and streams overrun their banks?

I was disgusted to hear those excuses even being given air time...and it was on NPR.

5. Amazingly
citizens of North Mississippi (the most conservative part of the state) were all up in arms that their insurance rates might go up because of the destruction on the gulf coast. In so many words, they said, fuck those bums down on the coast.

7. It seems that the culture of survival of the fittest has trickled down from DC.
This admin and its coterie has made stepping on those who are less fortunate than oneself, not only acceptable, but admirable.

I hate them with a passion I neve knew I was capable of.
