Kerry folks: As a Clark supporter, I always defended your guy. Now...
<--------:-)

I always defended Kerry when he was under attack from other candidates' supporters. I always said Kerry was my second choice--search my old posts--now he's my first. I hope that Clark is second on the ticket with him, but will remain committed to Kerry whether or not Clark is is VP.

Clark's decision to endorse Kerry did NOT influence my decision of candidates; however, it did influence my timing of when I would reveal it.

KERRY/CLARK '04 ???
CHEERS! :toast:

14. I doubt it
The time for Clark to upstage Kerry was in the past month...didn't happen...and won't in the campaign. I think the biggest problem with Clark as VP is that it just overlaps too much with Kerry's strength (military). He doesn't bring anything to the ticket that Kerry needs. On the other hand, Edwards clearly does.

21. I think he brings MUCH to the ticket...Americans didn't get to see it...
during the media blackout of his campaign, but in the past couple of days, all you are seeing on the telly is Clark. He has proved beyond doubt his alignment with the Democratic party. Folks are hearing him talking about families, poverty, and they are hearing him criticize Bush for dividing the country.

They compliment each other in wonderful ways. I am proud of both of them.

still important. Plus what does bush have to run on? It's clear he's picked national security because that's all he's got. The double war hero ticket would SMEAR HIM, GRIND HIM INTO THE GROUND LIKE A BUG.

Sounds good to me.

33. Can't be Sec of Defense
Word has it that Clark cannot be Sec of Defense. Gotta be out of the military for 10+ years beforehand. Likely related to requirement of civilian control/administration of military.

VP spot would be good, though, allowing him to work closely with SecDef to make the Pentagon more accountable financially and to refocus the budget to projects/resources relevant to current threats and needs.

26. Ten minutes after he endorses Kerry, Clark is history
just like Jomentum Joe Lieberman, Smiling Dick Gephardt and all the others.

The extent to which Clark supporters think Wes will be given any role to play in the election or the possible Kerry administration is directly related to their inexperience in the wonderful world of real politics.

The only reason anyone in the Kerry camp would listen to Clark is because at this point he still has a lot of influence over those grassroots volunteers who came out for his campaign. Once that base is absorbed into the Kerry mulch Wes might as well go out and practice his golf swing. Maybe write another book.

He really will be done.

If you have any concern for what Clark was talking about, you really have to hang tough. A couple of more names on a mailing list won't do much to help Kerry but those same names remaining behind Clark will go far to make sure his voice continues to be heard.

Otherwise, it's goodnight Nelly, thatks for the dance.

30. Donna Brazile just trashed Clark on CNN
I expected as much from Bay Buchanan, but not DB. She and Bay Buchanan are on CNN talking nasty about Clark's intended endorsement of Kerry tomorrow. Brazile said (paraphrased), "Clark is one less person for the volunteers to call. That's all it means. His endorsement is meaningless."

Well Donna Brazile, guess what? I might not even vote for any Dem you support, you coward.

I'm going to post this outside this thread, I'm so stinking mad at her for being so dismissive of Clark and the 375,000 people who already voted for Clark in those 14 primaries.

I chose my username when I signed up using a variation of my real name. then, after I had about 200 posts, I wanted to change my name, but realized I would have to go back to zero post count, so I just kept it. However, it has been fun having DUers refer to me as Julia. LOL! And I don't mind at ALL. I bet Julia would be a cool gal to drink a cold beverage with. ;-)

I've always admired Clark, and was intrigued by his candidacy. I truly hope Clark chooses to make a career in public service, irregardless of what happens this November.

Kerry has said that national security experience and leadership are his main criteria for VP, so a Kerry /Clark ticket is not out of bounds.

Yes, I hope that Kerry sees the value in a Clark VP. Still, I will stick with Kerry no matter whom he chooses.

68. Thanks...welcome aboard
Personally I have engaged in no attacks on the candidates (with the exception of Sharpton who is in the race for himself and to make mischief on behalf of the GOP) and would enthusiastically support all of them. The attacks on Kerry here crossed the line a long time ago and I feel those that are not going to support the nominee should not be allowed to post here. Clark is a fine man who was predictably trashed by the media - get used to it Wes it comes with being a Democrat. I hope he stays active in this campaign and others to come.

81. Thank you, bushwakker...
Yeah, the attacks have been really ugly on Kerry. Thanks for welcoming me. :-)

69. I supported Clark from Day1, when he entered this race.
Kerry was my number 2 choice and I said in past posts that if
Clark were to drop out I would support John Kerry.

Side Note: My decision to support Kerry has NOTHING to do with Wes Clark's endorsement.

75. Me too, JC!
I have thrown my support behind Kerry as well. Wes's endorsement just helped me feel a little better (I was feeling like a bandwagon jumper just a tad), but even without it, I would support Kerry.

I even made my first donation to Kerry! It's going to be a long and hard campaign (insert intern joke here), but I think that Kerry will beat Bush in November.

Bring IT ON! :bounce:

83. Ah, I think Kerry can weather the intern rumour
It's baseless as of now. Drudge is the only person reporting and he has an agenda. It won't worry me until I see mainstreamers reporting it. And then, we'll just have to see...but I think Kerry is strong enough to withstand this rumour.

I made my first donation too! Felt good!

88. I'm afraid I can't donate to Kerry till Clark is on the ticket.
Then I could feel like I was donating to Clark.
Clark is the only person I have ever donated to.
