Micheal Smerconish: the story will BACKFIRE on the media with the constant bashing of Imus
Once again this bald headed bastard doesn't get it. he thinks just because some in the media and Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are calling for his head that the American people will rally to his side saying enough is enough of going after him.this is about the DEGRADING of women in general.plus Imus has been given numerous chances with this hate mongering.

1. Unfortunately, I think he's right.
I've overheard several conversations recently of people insisting that Imus is getting a raw deal, and that everyone should just leave him alone. There are a whole lot of people who are racist and sexist but would insist they're not, just because they can't imagine that there is anything wrong with the way they think. There is a very high tolerance for prejudices in America.

I don't think this will have any permanent impact on his career. :(

3. Advertisers can only take so much.
MSNBC just kicked his butt to the curb for because they were losing BIG MONEY advertisers left and right.

5. Well, Imus certainly didn't say anything racist between last Friday and today.
But, MSNBC decided to fire him anyway.

At first, they said they were just going to suspend him for 2 weeks.
2 days later, they fire him.

Yet, Imus didn't say anything wrong between then and now.

6. Ah, yes, he did.
He went on Sharpton's show and said "we just can't win with 'you people'". "you people" - he might as well have called Sharpton "boy".

7. So we're going to elevate Imus into the King of Insensitivity?
Why? I guess the Rutgers Womans Basketball Team and many of us are so thinned skinned we have to have someone's head on a platter? I'll pass...... Let the jerk spew his trash. Being offended is no worse than getting a bad meal at your local diner. Get over it and move on.....it will happen again one day and sooner than you think. This sensivity crap is going to be our undoing.

9. Sensitivity is going to be our undoing? That's a new one....
I assumed war, corrupt politicians, disastrous economic policies, global warming and inequality would.... I guess I was wrong - people who get offended when people call them nappy-headed hos or faggots are.
:wtf:

10. Well, corrupt politicians, war, disastrous economic
policies and inequality have been around since the beginning of civilization. They will always be with us to some degree. Spineless people tend to end up in the shitpile of history.

11. Well, some of us don't equate sensitivity to spinelessness...
I consider the constant need to brush off racism to be spineless.
