I am an undecided primary voter
give me up to 5 reasons to vote for your candidate. Note I say vote for your candidate, not vote against some other candidate.

1. If the man I want runs he will be a great leader of the world regarding
global warming and he is also aware of the need for a strong safety net.

2. Sure, I'll play.

1. Public financing. John Edwards supports it. I have high hopes that if we can create publicly financed elections, candidates can start listening to the people they are supposed to represent, instead of whoever waves the most dollars around.

2. He listens. When John Edwards was attacked because of things that his bloggers had written, he listened to us, not to the mainstream media, not to Bill Donohue, and kept them. After Edwards spoke before AIPAC, he listened to us as we expressed our displeasure, and he backed off. I believe, and I hope, he'll be a president who will listen to us, not the media, and not right-wing concern trolls.

3. Poverty. It's Edwards' signature. When he announced, he did it from the 9th ward in New Orleans. He was sending a message: we're going to stop leaving you behind to face the consequences of strategically incompetent right-wing governments.

Those are the three best reasons I know of to support John Edwards for the Democratic nomination, and to be the next President of the United States.

4. I suspect that Edwards encouraged those bloggers to quit
your point is taken that he stayed with them longer than many would have, but I really do think he wound up pushing them out the door when all was said and done.

5. Al Gore
1. He won in 2000 fair and square and was screwn by the Supreme Court. He deserves another shot at the title.
2. He is the most experienced of the contenders.
3. His "pet project" will save the planet.
4. He will unite the warring factions within the party.
5. He has an Oscar and watch this space for the Nobel Peace Prize. He has gravitas in spades.

7. I'm bored, I'll play
I'm pushing for Kucinich, btw.

1. Universal healthcare.
2. Same-sex marriage.
3. International cooperation and out of Iraq.
4. Full and complete repeal of the Patriot Act.
5. Withdrawal from NAFTA.

Those are all things Dennis is for. Granted, others may agree with you on some issues but if you're a liberal (and if you're posting here, chances are you are) then it's a fairly good bet that Dennis Kucinich is the guy who shares the majority of your opinions. Add in the appeals for economic justice, pro-choice sentiment and push for campaign finance reform and the rest is gravy. The only issue where anyone can beat Kucinich is the enviroment and even there, only Gore can beat him. If an election were to be fought purely on the issues, Dennis Kucinich could start measuring up the Lincoln bedroom right now. It's a real shame that the liberals can't take over the Democratic party in the same way as the Religious Right took over teh Republicans or this guy would have a serious shot.

11. 5 Reasons to vote for Bill Richardson

  1. Executive Experience: Bill Richardson is the second term highly popular governor of New Mexico. He served as UN Ambassador and Secretary of Energy under the Clinton administration. His experience means that he has a proven track record of enacting legislation and managing a government therefore he can get our Democratic agenda passed (LINK).

  2. Diplomacy: Bill Richardson negotiated treaties and prisoner releases. When Shrub Inc botched the North Korean nuclear negotiations; diplomats from North and South Korea met with Richardson in New Mexico. Richardson will meet face to face with leaders of countries we have poor relationships with to find common ground (LINK)

  3. Immigration Reform: Bill Richardson is an expert on the issue. He was named Organization of American States special envoy to focus on economic development and immigration (LINK). He supports a common sense policy for immigration reform that includes a path to citizen ship for undocumented workers (LINK).

  4. Iraq: Richardson will get us out of Iraq immediately. His plan would try to bring together all the factions in Iraq with the surrounding countries to negotiate a plan for an immediate and stable withdrawal (LINK).

  5. Energy Independence: Since Bill Richardson served as Secretary of Energy, he has the knowledge and experience to help us achieve energy independence through conservation and renewable resources (LINK). As Governor, he has pushed for public transportation, expansion of renewable energy resources, and committed to greenhouse gas reduction for New Mexico.

Personally, we have a great slate of candidates and it is difficult to choose. While Bill Richardson is the candidate that I would most like to see get the nomination, I'd support any of them.
