Should we play like Republicans and boycott Australia?
Given Prime Minister John Howard's remarks bashing Obama and Democrats, should we postpone travel down under and forgo buying their shiraz? The republicans tried to boycott a country, we should do the same until he apologizes for his remarks.

5. no, we need a "buy blue Australia"
I'm sure there are plenty of proigressive businesses down under that would love our money. Patronized them and boycott John Howard's backers

6. why not, include UK too
if the dems and libs don't travel there, the tourist dollars will be cut disproportionately. Cause the pubs don't like going to strange places esp ones where they don't speak or drive or eat American.

8. They're not to happy with their leader either
I agree with the post that said we should just try to punish the companies sympathetic to Howard. Anyone know what some of these are?

9. I think Howard..
... much like our own Bush, is not particularly representative of the people of Australia.

20. Howard thinks ?
Oh, your title had me confused.
Animal cunning yes, but thought?
I suspect the tens of thousands of Australian in anti-war rallies in Feb/2003 opposed to attacking Iraq might have been a subtle hint that at least much of the Australian population was opposed to the idea. The scary part is that your George Bush has been using Howard's advice to win the last two elections; no wonder they're great friends.

10. Aussies can't be held responsible for their Prime Minister
just as Americans can't be held responsible for Bush idiocy.

Australians are wonderful people; lots of them in Hawaii, & they have always been great allies.

11. I agree but too bad Republicans weren't so considerate
when trying to punish all of France because of political decisions that were made. I guess the difference is most of the French agreed with the decisions made by their government. I would definitely like to find out the companies that back Howard and do a selective boycott.

16. What for ?
Why should you boycott Australia for defending the US Democratic Party and people opposed to the Iraq mess?

Should Australians boycott the United States for George Bush funding the genocide of West Papua?

I think the US policy of funding an anti-western pro-jihad military and al-Qaeda and other Jihad training camps for years after 9/11 is even more offensive, what do you think of the US funding the TNI military?

I suggest you boycott George Bush for his profiteering from genocide,
and we'll boycott John Howard for supporting Bush, the Iraq invasion, and the genocide of West Papua.

President Bush also re-emphasized the United States' strong support for Indonesia's national unity and territorial integrity, and opposition to secessionist movements in any part of Indonesia.
