Howard Dean about Molly Ivins: "I am so glad she lived to see November 7, 2006".
He posted at the Democracy for Texas site where they are honoring her today.

Our Friend Molly Ivins

Howard Dean Says:
February 1st, 2007 at 1:48 pm

Molly Ivins was, in addition to being wonderful, warm and witty, a serious force for democracy. She punctured blowhards, and seared an Adminstration that valued power over principle. We are all going to miss her a lot, but I am so glad she lived to see November 7, 2006. That is the day we began to restore out great American Democracy, and she played a big part in turning around our country.

Sincerely, Howard Dean

1. Beautiful tribute from the blog....beautiful picture from 2005 Democracy Fest

I met Molly at DeanFest (aka DemocracyFest) in June 2005. Whatever impression you get of her from her columns, nothing can compare to the great Ms. Molly in person. She was so full of intelligence, passion, humor and life!

During the Saturday Night Blowout, one of the bands was playing and they started to talk about how great Molly was and then after speaking her praises, decided to sing her praises. Molly was so moved, she got up from her seat at the table on the right side facing the stage, and was looking over the railing at the band and all the people looking up at her. I caught this photo:

Thanks to firefox at the blog for sharing the memories.

9. They said she did not feel well at the DemFest even in 05.
I found a picture of the band singing her praises there when she looked over the balcony. I will maybe post it tomorrow. It is a beautiful picture of a beautiful lady.

It was moving. There was truly a great respect between them.

8. I know what you mean.
When the Dean campaign started we met some of the nicest people here in our area...we thought we were the only Democrats around basically. We pretty much stayed together with DFA also.

Though we differ on some things, we have most things in common.

This is so sas that we loose such a fighter against this criminal administration. She will be sorely missed.

10. "We are the deciders".
"We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war. We need people in the streets, banging pots and pans and demanding, 'Stop it, now!'"
