I have *never* looked forward to hearing Bushjr speak... until tonight.
I thnk it is inevitable that he is going to say things tonight that drive more people not just off the fence ... but over the cliff in terms of looking at him/hearing him (and those who 'dance with him') with anything but contempt. For the first time I look forward to listening not with a very careful ear to what other evil is he planning, but instead with an ear for "what else with middle america (where I live) hear and shake their heads as if he is crazy... what else will fuel outright contempt for him after he says it... as it is inevitable that he will say things that will have that effect on most of the public. He does AWFUL in interviews. And he can't win at it - if it is a real give and take - he s*cks at that format; if it is highly staged or scripted - it will come off that way and people will view it (and him) with even MORE cynicism.

While I hate that he and his gang are still leading this country for the next two years - I relish in the moments where he injures himself with the public - and when he threatens to take his whole party down with him.

It is one of the rich ironies that his key handler, ROVE, was said to believe that his legacy was to create a one-party majority that would last a lifetime (50 years or so) - that instead their actions and words and sheer contempt for the public (all the things that worked so well for them originally) are likely to lead that same party out to the wilderness for potentially as long as they had hoped to have one-party rule.

So much for the conventional wisdom of "Rove the Genius!"

1. Don't count Rove out----
he's still there. I just think Chimpy took things in his own hands once too often and Rove just gave up on him and that's why you see Jim Baker and Cheney doing their 'thing' now......sure Chimpy's still the 'boss', but that's just cuz they let him think that so he don't have a temper tantrum on the teebee.....

3. I agree with you.
Watching him deliver one of his "speeches" is sheer torture, but I'm curious about this interview. I will be watching and TIVOing.

7. since it is delayed (at least est) for football - I will flip back and forth
to try to see when he begins his schtick. Like watching a trainwreck - but with the satisfaction of knowing that eventually this train (admin) WILL wreck and it needs to asap for the good of the country and the world.

8. idiot is going on 60 minutes...
apparently he is going to do the decider thing again per "congress can't stop me" per surge. I want to see how arrogant he is when he says it. I want to watch him with ears of those who are just waking up to the real horror show that is bush out of the lull of media / fear produced slumber of the past five + years.

10. too many bush loyalists there... put their intentionally by the WH
instead - lets keep them divided enough that they become enfeebled - meanwhile the public keeps watching the unmasked horror show and says "NEVER AGAIN" and that never lasts longer than the six years we were free of Nixon before Reagan.

12. When is football season finally OVER?
It's so annoying to have this "sport" with it's endless time outs to sell cars and beer (no one ever noticing that they might not be a good combination) that stretches every minute into at least five.

You never know when 60 Minutes will actually start.
