1. I don't think that's the purpose

the purpose of subject lines is to promote the subject of
discussion within . . . . nothing more involved than that.

I seek to convince no one of anything, I discuss these things to (hopefully) add clarity to my already held opinions.


Very few here ever change their minds about anything.

Occsionally that seems to be the idea, but it's as likely to turn potential readers off as on, so I doubt it makes much of an impression on folks here. We've seen worse and made it this far.

I think mine are supposed to be snappy summaries of the text, so people can read or skip - but I guess we're each our own worst analyst. :D
