Pakistan "DAWN" says Maliki wouldn't talk to Bush in front of SUNNI King
I found this very interesting. In the last portion of the article it says:

But al-Maliki's insistence on not attending the three-way meeting with Bush and Jordan's king was a troubling sign of possible US difficulties ahead in the effort to calm Iraq.

The Bush administration is believed to be pushing its Sunni allies in the region-- meeting host Jordan as well as Saudi Arabia-- to persuade Sunni insurgent sympathisers in Iraq to reconcile with the Shia factions that are close to the Iraqi leader.

Al-Maliki's refusal to meet with Bush while Jordan's king was in attendance showed a level of mistrust toward his Sunni-dominated neighbours that could bode ill for the US strategy.Bush, meanwhile, continued to reject drawing Shia-led Iran into helping Iraq in its struggle for peace.

Al-Maliki, though, seemed open to the possibility of Tehran, as well as Damascus, getting involved.—AP

What is this administration thinking. The Sunnis have been our traditional allies (Pakistan, Jordon, Saudi Arabia,etc.). Why would they decide to support only the Shites (Iran, majority of Iraq, and Hezbollah)? God, they have gotten us into a mess!

1. Dubyha and the Neocons so desperately need a history lesson...
Rather than trying to write a new History for the region they need to learn FROM the History of the region. How sad that American men and women have to sacrifice their lives and bodies as the neocons dabble in their misguided efforts to rewrite and make History.

2. Neocons cannot learn from history.
They have a fundamental misunderstanding of it, and of mankind.

These are the people who once told everyone how happy their slaves were, because they always saw them smiling and singing.

3. I doubt that they care about history. This was all about oil from the
very beginning. Problem is, their buddies can't go in and get it because there is a civil war going on and now it looks like the whole region is going to blow up. Are they counting on this and assuming we will go in and clean up at the end and take the oil anyway, like we planned from the start?
