Edwards staffer at Wal-Mart. Well that does it, I'm voting for McCain!
The media, who couldn't bother to tell the American public that the war in Iraq was an obvious lie and a sure bet to be a fiasco, have finally decided to report some hard-hitting news.

A voluteer staffer of John Edwards tried to pick up a Playstation 3 for him at Wal-Mart: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15764859/from/RS.4/

Those Democratic bastards!

3. Definitely the challenge of satire now
The Bushies and the MSM keep pushing the envelope, don't they?

The Onion must have to recalibrate all the time.

2. the fucking hypocrite!!!
:eyes:

Then there's this: "'While the rest of America's working families are waiting patiently in line, Senator Edwards wants to cut to the front,' the Wal-Mart statement said." Yeah, I'm sure so many "American working families" have the $700 for the PS3....

Not to mention that the PS3 isn't exactly a Wal-Mart exclusive, so if Edwards really did want to "cut in line" he wouldn't have to go through Wal-Mart. Hell, he'd probably just call Sony of America directly.

6. Call for hearings into Corpmedia's connections to RW message machine. Halperin's
book outlined how Drudge controls the mainstream media's input and output, and Drudge gets his info stratight from RNC fax machines - subpoena his computer and bring in the network news rooms and their producers.

7. What a slap in the face to freedom of the press
I hate the RW media as much as anyone, but taking away their freedom will not restore ours.

9. Doesn't take away their freedom - it exposes their CORRUPTION by those who
already TOOK AWAY and tried to destroy press freedom by controlling the input and the output of the news organizations.

10. What law have they broken?
I'll grant that they are deficient in integrity, but what law are they breaking that justifies the "CORRUPTION" charge?

11. Read Boehlert's Lapdogs. They broke the guidelines of Ethical Journalism.
Dirty lyrics were legal, and Gore found reason to call hearings on that, didn't he? And ethical journalism is a NECESSITY for any nation's democracy to survive.

Why anyone would argue FOR unethical journalism to be protected from exposure is a mystery. Especially since the ethical reporters are getting pushed out.

12. Guidelines are not laws
The government cannot take away someone's freedom of the press because they don't meet your standard of ethics.

I am not arguing that they are ethical, I am arguing that freedom of the press is somewhat sacred, not to be rescinded because some disagree with the message or the ethics of the publishers. Perhaps instead of Boehlert you should read about the First Amendment.

14. "subpoena his computer"
That was what you said. Perhaps you should have noticed the Plame case a few months back where reporters refused to reveal their sources because it violated their freedom of the press. Now you want to subpoena his computer and you think that would not violate the freedom of the press? You need to get more information about the First Amendment.

15. He is acting as an OPERATIVE of the RNC - he INFLUENCED journalists.
And he has gotten away with lie after lie because he hides behind the First Amendment. If he has to account for those lies, so be it. He had to once before when he lied against Blumenthal and spread the story that he beat his wife.

17. "OPERATIVE of the RNC" doesn't mean
He has sacrificed his freedom. Influencing journalist is not a crime.

I understand your hatred, but that is no reason to trash the Constitution.

20. Well, he can answer questions to how he operates - it's not like Halperin
bothers to hide how it happens, but it sure as heck can get some honest exposure through appropriate hearings. The tactic has been in use for over a decade, and it should be covered by something, even campaign laws.
