"This electronic voting with no audit trail is wrong"
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 08:54 PM by madmax
"To: Jedi Master Pikachu
Since Virginia is one of those states that uses electronic voting machines with no paper trail, there isn't any way to do a real recount. All they can do is to add up the numbers again.

That's not going to help. The answer is to require some sort of verifiable paper trail. Here in MN, we use optical readers. The ballot I filled out will be available for a recount, if necessary.

This electronic voting with no audit trail is wrong."

reach across the aisle and get the elections systems fixed so that everyone KNOWS they work - not merely "trusting" that they work.

I'm glad that the FReepers now feel that they have a stake in this issue.

8. Let's continue to keep an open mind ...
Just because the present outcome looks good does not mean that the voting system worked well. To sum up my point just think of the scenario where Bush stole election 2000 and 2004. That's obvious. People woke up and everyone expected that to happen again. It didn't. At least it doesn't seem that way. I think the Democrats won by a much bigger margin, just like they ACTUALLY did the last 2 big elections. This time could be a setup to get people not looking at the machines come 2008 so they can steal their way in once again. I am certain that they are cooking something. Whats most important is just continuing to wake people up and getting together a real case against Bush and Cheney. They both belong in prison and this would be an excellent way to demonstrate a people's America. The rest of the world is talking alot about us and it's mostly good. The only exceptions are countries like China who are leeching off us to row. I would like to see that stopped and watch Walmart go bust. Bring back the mom and pop stores.
