wife has Parkinson's disease and is close to death, at less than 60 years old. She has suffered for many years. He's outraged that Rush would be critical of the disease and would make fun of it. He's living the horror of it so it really hit home for him.

Many people love Michael J Fox whether they are republican or democrat and since he got that disease, many people have shown compassion and empathy for him.

I saw a poll a few days ago that said that, in the areas where his commercial was shown, people said their opinions of democrats increased about 10%.

After Rush attacked him, I bet they favored democrats even more!!

You just don't accuse someone of faking an illness........and you certainly don't accuse Michael J Fox!!

You don't accuse someone that is passionate about curing a progressive disease (whether you agree with them or not) of lying about their symptoms.

I don't think that because it is Michael J. Fox that it is the issue nearly as much as everyone knows how he WAS--and can see now how he is.
It brings home a very uncomfortable point that it could easily happen to someone they know.
I believe with all of my heart if the Reagan's had allowed photographs and video of President Reagan at his worst--it would have persuaded many that sit on the fence of stem cell to jump off. However, that being said, I totally understand why they didn't, and respect their right to privacy.
