A message to all the freepers who accuse Michael J. Fox of exploiting his illness
I seem to remember a woman named Terry Schiavo who was not able to exploit her illness, she lived in a vegetable state unable to speak for herself. Because she could not defend herself however you decided to exploit her, no matter how much it would rip her family apart you did not care. You wanted to use her to whip up your base, you did not care about her anymore than you care about the tens of millions of people you deny health care to through your support of the corrupt insurance companies and HMOs that control the system.

No you did not care about Terry Schiavo or her family, you just saw her as a cheap opportunity to make it appear as if you were pro-life despite your numerous policies which have resulted in death and destruction.

After your shameful exploitation of the Terry Schiavo case you have no right accusing anyone else of exploiting anything for political gain.

Michael J. Fox is a real person, suffering from a very real illness and he has every right in the world to call for changes in policy which would help make his life better. This is supposed to be a democracy after all, and in a democracy we are all supposed to have the right to speak up and support the candidates and issues that we agree with. People don't suddenly lose that right when they develop a serious illness.

Your attacks on Michael J. Fox are disgusting. You have no problem exploiting a woman like Terry Schiavo for political gain when she does not even have the ability to voice her wishes, yet when a person stands up and calls for help suddenly you have the nerve to attack them and send them the message that you believe that they are less valuable than a few cells in a petri dish. When voters decide that it is really the candidates that you support who are worth less than cells in a petri dish you will only have yourselves to blame. Your right-wing attacks on the sick and dying are reprehensible.

1. The evil ones always prey on the sick and defenseless...
I'm glad Michael J. Fox stood up for himself and all Parkinson's sufferers and took a stand. As for those attacking him for that, well...

They're going to get theirs in about ten days! :grr:

B-)

5. Terry Schiavo
is something I will never forget, I would think it would be prime for discussion about the "values" of these thugs during this election season.

6. Lord, please give freepers these debilitating diseases, for that's the
only way they will know what it is like to have Parkinson's and other debilitating diseases.

9. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I understand your frustration. But that's not the answer. Rather, ask the Lord to open their eyes, soften their hearts, slap them upside the head and obnoxiously visit them in their waking and sleeping hours, giving them terrible signs, dirty looks, hand gestures, horse heads in their beds, phone messages from on High that say in a thunderous voice "What is your problem?"... but not these dreaded diseases.

8. "Isn't it interesting...
...that Fox exhibits his illness so prominently just before an important election?" Well, duh!

One man's exploitation is anothers crusade. Bravo to Fox and his family. I liked his remarks today in response to Limbaugh (former drug addict who knows all about control :sarcasm: ), to wit: “That’s funny — the notion that you could calculate it for effect,” he said. “Would that we could.”

10. It's the GOP Health Care Plan

You miss the point.

They cured Terri Schiavo, and now they are going to cure Michael J. Fox.
