Repug desperation showing in television ads in my state? Yours?
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 07:38 PM by CLW
In Minnesota, the few ads I've seen in the last week are downright nuts. Repug candidates are screaming fear-mongering nonsense, claiming Dems will give in-state college tuition benefits to illegal aliens, and painting pictures of Dem candidates as barely contained lunatics. They are desperate, and it shows.

Edited to add great Molly Ivins quote: Edited to add great Molly Ivins quote: "I realize it is difficult to keep up with the degree of Republican sleaze around these days"

1. I don't think desperation adequately describes it.
There are a whole bunch of Republophile ads out there that look like they were written by inmates at the asylum.

3. Nuts Amok in Indiana, too
The Pukes are out in force here. They've accused Dems of being soft on meth felons, drunk drivers, and even of tax fraud.

One Repuke is starting his ads with "I'm a husband, father, and active church member."

Another one talks about wanting to put Ronald Reagan on the dime.

What's that I hear? I think the fat lady is warming up.

4. I have a hilarious one for you
Charles Boustany, who is the repuke running in my district. Two years ago he had Bush and Cheney leaving recorded voice mails on my answering machine day in and day out, talking about how he was going to Washington to help Bush.

NOW, his ads DO NOT SHOW HIM AS A REPUBLICAN ANYWHERE ON THE ADS. Nowhere. No "R" after his name, nowhere in the monologue, you'd think he was party less

Funny funny funny stuff.

Just talking about how he helps local people cut through red tape.
