Frontline on Year 1 of the Iraq War: complete and utter chaos
from the lies that got us in there to the idiots who tried to run it. Paul Bremer was chosen EXACTLY because he had no background on the Middle East, no experience with diplomacy in that area, what Frontline determined was a requisite of the Republican White House -- the less you know, the better. That way you won't be aligned with either the Pentagon or the State Department, which were, of course, feuding.

Chimpy is a mental midget, Rumsfeld is certifiably insane, and Cheney and Rove are managing from behind the curtain. Our goose is cooked. And 600,000 people have died.
This should be mandatory viewing for every American. Just to remind them, around election time, what idiot party is running the show.

talk about rewriting history - where was the history on Kissinger Group, what was Kissinger's role in his selection - notice how Kissinger's role was completely glossed over and yet we know that * is briefed by Kissinger even now..

Where was the history on the neo-con's Feith et al. on the run up to "war", the PNAC documents dating from the '90's and before, Ari Fleisher's brother's role, no mention of troop involvement in looting of museums, glossing over Abu Ghraib, which contractors were working in Iraq and who got them the contracts and why, no mention the role of the four largest oil companies, why Sanchez was placed in Iraq, and on and on and on..

pathetic...

Don't forget - the idea WAS and ALWAYS HAS BEEN complete chaos in Iraq in order for the oil companies to divide the spoils.

2. We obviously were watching different programs.
I thought, that as usual, Frontline did a stunning job. Wolfowitz and Feith were there in all their inneptitude. It was a brilliant expose of the incompetance of this administration. I particularly liked the 'frat' boys story.
The title was the 'Lost Year in Iraq' and it was well done. Perhaps you need to watch it again.

6. Frontline could do a series of documentaries on Kissinger's
continuing influence, the whole process and outcome of the looting, and every other angle of this rotten mess we're in. They're taking small bites -- this illuminates the ineptitude of the coalition provisional authority from the ground up, and helps the public understand how these bozos think (or don't). The corruption is so massive it's hard to wrap our brains around it.

is totally insane fueled by their incompetency and negligence, and who are the victims innocent Iraqis and our troops who are slaughtered for only lies. The total incompetency of this regime is stunning and criminal.

One note: Rumsfeld is totally unwell and should be placed in a nice warm cell.

4. I watched this last night. As always, Frontline does an excellent
job of covering the subject in a very factual manner.
