neo con in-fighting showcased on Wash. Journal this morning

(bare in mind Woodward's latest bk. on the in-fighting)

Lamb had David Frum on first and then Richard Viguerie. they disagree on how the neo cons should do things.

wonder why he didn't have them at the same table :)

they both are full of crap but Frum got it all wrong when he dissed MTV. saying the mid easterners didn't like us because of MTV. MTV is loved by the young (and old) around the world for various and sundry reasons, depending on the country and part of the world.

neo cons and religious freaks are the ones who don't like MTV. scares them.

1. MTV? Neocons are fighting about the effects of MTV?

They must be a part of the take no responsibility crowd. What they have wrot far out weighs any influence MTV could have!

6. the neocons aren't fighting among themselves.

the paleocons, who have never been huge fans of the iraq war, are finally
talking the neocons on.

what condemnation of hastert that is coming from the rethugs is coming from
the paleos, as well, for what that's worth.

I, for one, am enjoying the fireworks.

2. Geez... MTV?
No, Frum, you nitwit... that's why the religious freaks don't like us... but they're NOT all religious freaks. And newsflash: religious freaks HERE hate us for MTV, that's why they're busy trying to install a theocracy.

Oh wait... he's lying intentionally, isn't he... just to get "the wackos" (as they call their religiously-obsessed base) out in force? Or is he really that stupid? Hard to tell these days...

3. Geez, I don't like MTV, and I'm about as far to the left as one
can possibly get! It's beside the point, but MTV should be called PHLEGM TV! BLAH!

;-)

4. This is not as new
as one might think. The ones on the outside are often bewildered ideologues not in the Bush circle. Viguerie had made Bush Sr.'s political life miserable by attacking the FBI as jack-booted thugs and getting booted out of the lead spot in the NRA by Heston. His snubbing by the Inner Circle may be partly resentment, now reciprocated. These are not Bush loyalists anymore than Buchanan. Lord knows what happened to Judicial Watch which went from outlier to pest to invisible.

The closer they are tied to Bush and his fortunes, the more handicapped they are. Gingrich is probably the most comical loyalist, inwardly seething at whole the Bushes are dominating AND riuining the grand scheme and thus his own illegal opportunities. There are no healthy splits. Those always separate or outcast are ever there to pick a fight. Loyalists are in a two-faced meltdown.

5. I didn"t see Frum, but did see most of Viguerie.
He is an extremist in my opinion. The only thing he said thatsemed sort of OK was that his favorite President was Reagan, but he was NOT St. Reagan.
