A group of citizens here in Asheville NC got together and created a series of political ads lampooning Republican incumbent Congressman Charles Taylor.
I helped with a few of them. In fact, in the YouTube video link below, I'm the one doing the interpretive dance and I play a lion in support of sprawl.

The important thing to remember here is that these ads are done independently of Charles Taylor's Democratic challenger: Heath Shuler. The lesson here is that
you don't need to wait for the party apparatus to get your message across. In fact; if you wait, it will never happen.
Keep in mind that this is the first time local activists have done anything like this or had the tools to produce and distribute videos quickly and cheaply. By "cheaply" I mean zero dollars. The cameras weren't even technically designed to do video - they are off-the-shelf digital cameras with a video feature.
We've joked that this is the first example of zero-budget political television ads.
With time and practice, production quality will increase. I hope this inspires you to action.
