Hush Money for Reynolds?
http://atrios.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_atrios_archive.html#115972303770307560

Rep. Reynolds' NRCC received $100,000 from disgraced Rep. Foley in July, after he learned about Foley's inappropriate emails with minors

As reported yesterday, Reynolds declined to report the inappropriate emails to authorities or act on them -- now we may know why

From the NY Dem Committee.

Boom!

3. You would think that Reynolds would be smart enough
to steer clear of $, that if the story came out - would make him and his committee look slimey. Esp after the public shows of returning money from Abramoff, from DeLay, from Cunningham, and most recently from Ney - the idea of money whose source may later come under fire... should have been a reality for Reynolds this past July. The fact that it didn't rather gives off the impression of Hush money or Protection money. Whether or not that is what it was - it gives that impression.

4. more and more the GOP controlled House acts like a Racket.
No wonder that they don't mind that the Pres and his signing statements have made their jobs nearly irrelevant. It doesn't matter. All they need to do is keep power, keep access to the fed budget so that they can extort money from KSTREET for campaigns and pacs to pass around amongst themselves and in return dole out the public dollars via last minute additions to legislation that noone notices. Now we see they add a protection racket to members with things to hide as part of their mafiaesque repetoire.
