1. All of our victims are Jesus.
That's what the Love of Jesus means.

3. The Passion of Christ acted as an inoculation, inuring the populace
to news of torture and ultimately official sanction of torture.

7. As for me, I took it as a strong statement against torture.
Watching Mary clean the blood of her son from the streets, not to mention the whipping and crucifixion should have been a wake up call to the barbarity of it all. Jesus was considered a threat to the power structure of his day, many now believe him to be the Prince of Peace and the son of God.

I do believe the mass corporate media works at inoculating the American People to the idea of torture. But it's more by what they don't show rather than what they do. They did not want the Abu Gharib pictures to be made public, because they knew the American People, by a large degree would be repulsed by it. They also do not show explicit photographs of war victims for the same reason. Our mass corporate media sanitizes the news because they do not want the American People's sense of humanity to take precedence over it's blood lust. For example, I would challenge them to show actual water boarding techniques being performed on "enemy combatants" so the American People can decide if this is who we want to be as a nation. But I am not holding my breath.

8. LOL, he is exactly what would be termed an enemy combatant.
No insignia. No uniform. No State backing.

9. Missed opportunity
With a filibuster this could've been a killer ad. "Who would Jesus torture?" The smart, bare knuckle dems will use this pro torture vote against their fascist enabler rethuglican opponents.
