Bill Clinton aaaaand--Who can we train for the bare-knuckles matches?
Seriously, who in the ranks, both inside and outside DC, has the charisma, strength, and stamina to take on the Republican echo chambers in the media?

I'm talking about the whole package: looks, smarts, savvy, and intestinal fortitude.

Stephanie Miller comes to my mind but there must be others.

Let's send them to a talking head boot-camp then out into the world. We have the momentum and it's growing ever stronger. who can help us keep it up?

2. There are people that are trained, and doing it every single day

Long before what happened with Clinton on Sunday. But every time they speak out, it's never good enough for them. They just say "Grow some balls" or call them spineless.

We can dream about perfect Dems all we want. We'll still bitch, moan, and whine anyway.

3. Mario Cuomo
If Michelangelo were a wordsmith, his name would be Mario.

His courtly, gentlemanly, erudite, understated style is so foreign to the tone of today's 'debate' that no one could help but listen to him.

He can craft a phrase that cuts his opponent to the quick before he even knows he's been run through.

5. How quickly I can forget. Excellent choice and ever civil.
Makes him all the more threatening since they can't get him to react in anger.

Love this idea, where's he been?

6. BC is in a rare spot, and is able tomake statements like he did,
AND endure the flack without a scar.

1. He's an Ex President.
2. He already has the confidence of many Amricans.
3. He never has to face another election!
4. HE ALONE was in the perfect position to make the statements he made to Chris Wallace. Remember, he was answering for HIMSELF!

Along with the "Whole Pagckage" BC has a oratory gift that FEW if any other current politicians have. If we're talking about someonewho has possibble designs on the WH someday, they have to worry too much about alienating the middle of the roaders. NO CANIDATE can risk that.

7. There are plenty of non-aspirants I would think we can use.
In fact, I would consider politcal aspirations a hindrance to our bare-knuckle crew (think Al Franken for an example--he COULD be very good, but that Senate seat never is out of his mind, IMHO, which holds him back).

They don't have to be rough or rude, just skilled--and with no designs on elected office (or, as in the case of Gig Dawg, already past that milestone).

8. Good post - I was thinking after reading the Clinton transcript that one
of the things the Dem party needs most is a "War Room", like Clinton had during the first campaign - a group of people who can get out there *immediately* to counter all the Repug bullshit.
