Is Chris Matthews that stupid?
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 04:36 PM by herbbrown
I was just zipping through the channels and I heard him say in his disdain of Hugo Chavez that "how could he stand up at the podium and claim that Bush had flatulence and smelled up the podium". That's not what Chavez meant when he was saying "it still smelled like sulfur". He meant the residue of an explosion, like we are bombing everywhere we go. Is Chris Matthews that stupid, and somebody else tell me they saw this too?

2. well you didnt get it either. the sulphur smell is the smell of brimstone,
the smell of hell, of satan. It was a continuation of his calling bush the devil.

11. You'd think Tweety would understand the allusion
Hellfire, brimstone, sulfur and all. Isn't he Catholic? I remember from my catechism classes being indoctrinated with the idea that if you weren't God's best friend He'd consign you to an eternity of punishment. I figured I had enough psychos in my life without an omnipotent one who carried a grudge for all eternity, so I started casting about for another denomination that was a little more consonant with all that talk about forgiveness and love one finds in the Bible.

3. I think what Chavez meant
is his reference to Bush as the Devil, leaving a sulfurous trail. Sulfur and brimstone, and maybe he has horns and one of those tiny little forks, too.

4. I'm not a Chavez fan - but he is smart
He could also be referring to the US News snippet that * is the "Farter in Chief"!

And yes, Tweety can be incredibly stupid a lot of the time.

12. If Tweety supports the ruling Junta, he gets more invites to the
D.C. elite's party circuit.

Disgusting but true! :(

To paraphrase Bob Dylan: "It's a wonder he can even feed himself...." :dunce:

7. I thought it was in reference to hell and bush being satan
fire, brimstone and sulfur and the wailing of lost souls. You know, the sort of things fundies believe.
