Whatever happened to the "clulture of corruption?"
Edited on Fri Sep-15-06 12:40 AM by Tiggeroshii
Bob Ney's going to jail. This is the perfect time to highlight it again! Just bring it back, they won't really be able to say much cause things will be so obvious the Republicans just keep getting hammered by the fact they are so damned corrupt.

1. Failure in Iraq is a Better Argument
And the Bush Administration has given us such good evidence of their massive failure in Iraq.

Even Colin Powell has turned on them now. Could it be clearer they're fascist bastards who want to turn America into a third-world country?

8. I think taking Bush on in Iraq is going
to blow our chance of taking back both the House and Senate. I hope I am wrong but I think the "Cut and Run" sound bite is going to be this year's Swift Boat ploy that will turn the election in their favor, remember Karl Rove's plan from the get go was run on national security. Look at John Kerry he came out running on his military record and that's where they took him on "his strong point". They did the same with Max Clealand and John McCain.

2. Congressman William Jefferson of La....
He hasn't been charged or convicted of anything, but the fact that his office was raided, and the repukes made such a spectacle of coming to his defense? I could be wrong, but I think that kinda took the wind out of the "corruption" sail.

4. Jefferson made it so that it can't be used as a national issue
However, that shouldn't stop us from using it in individual races, including Ney's open seat, or DeLay's open seat, or against Conrad Burns in Montana, or against Pombo, Lewis, and Doolittle in California, or against John Sweeney in upstate New York.

5. The media and Karl Rove told the Dems to stop using that term...
and so they did.

6. It vanished after the race for Duke Cunningham's seat.
That term was used heavily.

Media pundits pronounced that the "culture of corruption" message was a failure even though we wound up with a very close race in a bright red district.

Normally that, or an unfavorable push poll, is all it takes to get our leadership to back off on a muscular talking point.

(note: I swear that phrase originated here at DU)

7. We are into the glory of wars and killing right now. Sorry
That one has not got time to be on news that is on 24 hours a day.
