Bullshit or the start of a *real* outting?
A few perhaps completely unrelated facts:

Richard Armitage cited as the 'initial source' in the Plame thing.

Colin Powell, in public, opposing the burning of the Geneva Conventions.

Novak publishes a story that differs from the story Armitage tells.

Armitage and Powell are old and close friends. They were the closest thing to 'moderation' in the run up to Bush's war.

Is this hit job by Novak on Armitage (who I **still** see as a scapegoat who got set up to do what *they* wanted him to do, re: Plame) the start of the smoke screen to cover the guilty asses still runniing our country? And maybe also a shot across old Colin's bow?

Will Colin turn on his old masters?

Will Armitage?

Am I over reading and over thinking?

2. No, you're not...
I also read further into it. James Baker being "called in" as an advisor on Iraq Policy. Powell and by extension Armitage answer only to one master, Poppy Bush. All of this stuff has Poppy's fingerprints all over it.

5. Well, that would make for a pot boiler!
Actually, i didn't wanna sound all looney and shit, but I'm maybe waaaaay over thinking this .... or not.

*If* one holds that Poppy's the top dog of the 'hired hands' to whomever is running the *real* show, then this would all be Poppy's doing. I think he's got orders to do in the son. The shitstorm that is the world today is maybe not the way the plan was supposed to come out. Couple that with the early whispers that son hated father, and we may all be pawns in a familty squabble that is no longer going to be tolerated by the men behind the curtain. So they send an ultimatum to Poppy, and Poppy's gotta make it all stop but in the process let NO ONE see behind the curtain.

And for what its worth, since I'm out on a limb anyhow, I think Saddam was about to rip the curtain aside and expose those men behind it. Its the aftermath of his being boxed up that is pissing them off right now.

*If* we get some hard and harmful statement from Colin before the elections, then we'll know this theory is correct. Lack of such a statement, however, is proof of nothing.

Okay ..... this tin foil on my head is REALLY hurting me.

8. you may be right I don't know but I have been thinking
The real point of this Bush presidency is to cover for Papa Bush's illegal activity while VP and Pres. They needed to get rid of some evidence that linked daddy to Iran through Saddam or some other crime we have not even imagined. All the rest is just gravy, you have to throw a bone to the financial backers and boy has it been a nice one.

3. Armitage IS a gossip, a well known one. THAT SAID.....
...it was ROVE who told TWEETY, who told Wilson....that "Wilson's wife is FAIR GAME."

That shit didn't come from Armitage.

You're not over thinking this. They wanna fuck ole Goofy Tooth, so they don't have to toss anyone else under the bus.

6. That actually would be a different plot line .....
.... or at least the other side of the main plot line.

The main plot line being that Poppy is controlling all this. If anyone's throwing Armitage under the bus, it would be the boy, as a tactic to fight his dad's guys.

7. Or Karl, who was said to be Junior's second when they were trying
to convince Powell to "come over" back in 00. Who was Powell's second? ARMITAGE...at least according to this rather conspiratorial account: http://www.consortiumnews.com/2006/091506.html

Apparently Karl and Armitage became friends during those discussions.

It's as plausible as anything else in this crazy gubmint!

Armitage's leaks were to Woodward, then (only when that failed to get printed), to Novak.

A career military officer doesn't reveal the identity of a spy by accident. Twice. In the period of a week.

Armitage was a good soldier, and in the administration's eyes, he has one more role to play - simultaneously a dagger in Powell's back and a distraction from Libby/Rove's culpability.

There's a lot of years of conditioning to overcome, but I doubt Powell will put up with it silently.
