Nice to know all that extra money you've been paying for your prescription drugs has been helping finance GOP attack ads. Turns out the Chamber of Commerce didn't pay for the famous DeWine ads. C of C laundered the funds from PhRMA.
" Washington - The pharmaceutical industry quietly footed the bill for at least part of a recent multimillion-dollar ad campaign praising lawmakers, including Sen. Mike DeWine of Ohio, who support the new Medicare prescription drug benefit, according to political officials.
...
"Mike DeWine has received more than $300,000 from prescription drug companies in campaign contributions" over his congressional career, "and voted their interests in Congress," said Joanna Kuebler, Brown's communications director. "That PhRMA would reward him by paying for a campaign ad is no surprise."
The DeWine campaign said that the Medicare drug bill passed the Senate with broad Democratic support. Asked if the ad was a gift from PhRMA, DeWine spokesman Brian Seitchick would only say, "There's a lot of interest in this race and a lot of people are going to be weighing in over the next few months. Brown continues to attack a prescription drug benefit that he knows is working to provide Ohio seniors affordable access to safe prescription drugs."
Yeah, that Medicre Prescription Drug reform bill is doing a great job :sarcasm:
