Activist thrown out of conference vows to plague Blair (UK)
THE pensioner who was ejected from Labour's conference last year for his anti-war heckle has won a seat on the party's ruling body and vowed to continue being a thorn in Tony Blair's side.

Labour members defied the party leadership and voted Walter Wolfgang, an 83-year-old peace activist, on to the National Executive Committee (NEC).

Mr Wolfgang, a refugee from Nazi Germany, said he would oppose the renewal of Britain's nuclear deterrent and called for forces to be withdrawn from Iraq now.
