Novak says the GOP is making Israel's war GOP's war to excite their base
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 04:48 PM by Robbien
With virtually unanimous bipartisan support for Israel in the new Mideast crisis, optimistic Republicans think they will get a badly needed boost from their base by what amounts to a new war front. That is based on the premise that Israel's war is "our war," the view of the GOP governing class that we doubt is fully shared by its rank and file.

"US invades Iraq" wins elections for GOP in 2002/04
"Israel invades Lebanon" to win elections for GOP in 2006/08

No wonder they are in no hurry to end all the carnage.

6. They have already forgotten Iraq. When was the last time
did you hear Iraq mentioned in the news? The news item that 6,000 Iraqis have died in the last two months didn't even get a mention on the airwaves. Japan has noticed the US disinterest and it has withdrawn its troops. BushCo didn't say a word to stop them.

3. Americans are Tired of War
we have been at war since 2001, we are tired of huge deficits, horrendous injuries, high
civilian casualty rates in Iraq, no positive results for Iraqi people, and spin, 24/7
catapult of the propaganda and a TOTAL disregard for the will of the American people or
the Iraqi people. What part about lose the hearts and minds of the people do you not understand
and now Bush is trying to expand the catered war to make it KOSHER.

4. "Always look on the bright side of life" .....
Gee, it is so good of The ME to help out the floundering GOP, and in the nick of time too! You can always count on their support...even if you have to go in and demand it.

YAY!
