Destroying stem cells is immoral
That, according to george bush, per CBS radio news and the reason he will veto any bill providing funding for stem cell research. A look at bush's resume and one would question the rationale of him questioning what is or is not moral or immoral. Our government is wasting an incredible amount of time and energy and funding to placate the religiously insane in our country. It is a tragedy.

1. No, destroying full-blooded humans is immoral, but
you're right, morality doesn't enter into dimson's existence.

2. So I guess Bush believes he's the morality monitor for the country.
How moral is it to send other people's sons and daughters into harm's way without proper armour?

How moral is it to lie to the entire country in order to start a war for the benefit of the big corporations?

How moral is it to pick out a class of people based on their sexual preferences and discriminate against them?

How moral is it to abuse alcohol and drugs?

How moral is it to endanger other lives by driving while under the influence?

How moral is it to cheat others out of money through deceptive and illegal business practices?

George Bush is hardly in a position to determine what is or is not moral, based on his past history.

3. Nor are his supporters
They are poster children for hypocrisy who pick and choose in their religious book just how moral they will and just how moral you and I should be.

5. That is the most concerning of all.
The supporters feel their beliefs should be forced on everyone else, and they want legislation put in place to make it the law of the land.

Of course, if it would cause any inconvenience or restrict the rights of the supporters, they don't want that. They want others to be discriminated against, and suffer the inconvenience, yet they want to do as they see fit. And Chimpy in Chief is all for it.

So much for being Christians and morally right.

7. But it's ok that those same stem cells were slated for destruction

I mean, if you're done with IVF and there are embryonic cells left over either you leave them frozen or they get slated for destruction.

I think it's sick that one form of destroying the cells is somehow better than another

8. Yep, you're right.
These blastocysts are going to be thrown away if they aren't used for research. The total insanity of this is more than I can bear.

10. Until they, or their loved one(s) develops Alzheimer's or Parkinson's,

then they may want to re-evaluate their position about this.

14. My Dad
had Alzheimer's his last two years (at least) and I would have trusted him with the nuclear codes before he died instead of bush. He is the result of what happens when those who are religiously insane vote.

16. Well, divorce is mentioned in the Bible as a sin.
While abortion is mentioned, only in passing, as someone who causes a miscarriage that the woman doesn't want should pay a small fee to the FATHER.
