Oh Hillary!
She just sent another mass e-mail, only THIS time, I felt moved to respond:

"Bite me. For years I’ve written you heartfelt e-mails of hope and encouragement, and look at the weak stand you’ve taken in matter after matter in the areas of national and international affairs that are historically dear to Democrats and vital to all Americans. I don’t vote and pay taxes to be an active New Yorker but more to be an active and concerned CITIZEN of my country. Whatever you tout about benefits to NYers you claim to be winning---like the enormous reduction of NY anti-terror funding, which even King couldn’t brag of securing?---I think that you should hang your head for the multiple disappointments you’ve served up on the national level. What in the world would Senator Moynihan say about all of this??? Arrrgh!

Basta! I will neither write-to nor read that-of-you, until you show me you represent me and mine. Why? For the same reason I won’t buy a racehorse: realism. I’d probably feel like a schmuck seeing it get beaten every time.

Show me what you’re made of, instead of simply playing The Game. Until you do---in terms of Senate votes---you can keep the propaganda to yourself, thank you, and
Simply refer to me as
Undecided

1. Drum...that about says it all.....
She has truly disappointed me....does she not know that she would have more support if she wasn't trying to move more to the right to appear more acceptable......

2. Truly...
It took me a few years, but I am so fed up that I HAD to mention the Honorable Senator Moynihan. He was one of my heroes (a great orator, I thought, and I believed he championed good causes...am I wrong?)
At first I though that Hil might be a worthy successor to his seat, but I soon found I was very mistaken.
Enough.

3. You are aware
That the former Senator Moynihan was far, far, far more conservative than Hillary?

4. I freely admit being plenty ignorant of a myriad of issues,
Edited on Mon Jul-10-06 09:53 PM by Drum
so, that's a no-not-necessariy-aware.

But are all "conservatives" the same? Is that description, that word itself, a damnation, a "litmus" test?

Should I apologize?

That said, I appreciate how my ignorance of Moynihan's "credentials" (as you imply) might've sounded quite ironic.

5. I just seem to get the vibe
That you dislike Hillary for being a politician. The late Senator was one as well.

Is it the Iraq war that makes you dislike Hillary? I betcha Moynihan woulda voted for it. He was also all for social security privatization.

I think Hillary is a major, major step up from Moynihan.

6. I'm certainly not beyond listening to wiser voices
and more astute observers of the political process. That's absolutely why I visit this site more than any other!

I'm just disappointed, and I guess in a simplistic way I just miss having some distinctive voices in the Senate. Am I totally off base in my (hazy) recollections of Sen. Moynihan?

I've been frustrated with Senator Clinton for her stands and her mute aspect on some things. That frustrates me, since I've been a believer since President Clinton campaigned the first time. After their tenure in Washington, I could understand how either the Mr. or the the Mrs. Clinton would justifiable protect themselves, but I wouldn't think that while in elected office our present Senator would stand with the pack and side with this White House on so many momentous issues. I hate that, for I so loved the Administration prior to this one...how could she go so "right?"

Just a rhetorical question, that.

7. Given her fundraising success....

For every one of you, there appear to be many more like me who are gladly supporting her campaigns (now and in the future), monetarily.

8. Hilary is a good politician
We all know presidential elections are not decided by one man/woman one vote but is decided by the electoral college. Hilary obviously feels their is no way she could loose blue state strongholds because they still long for the days of Bill Clinton. So she may take a few less votes in those blue states & still carry them, but she needs some red states to win the presidential election. So she is doing everything she can to become more popular with them. This my friends is politics. I hate it. It only lies to the people.
