Scuffles at Minuteman immigration rally (fascism on video)
illegal codecnnVideo('play','/video/us/2006/07/09/evans.immigration.protests.affl','2006/07/16');

note: I don't think CNN allows hotlinking to the video. Go to the home page and look for the video for "Scuffles at Minuteman immigration rally"

At any rate, this is a video of minutemen marching with a permit in hispanic neighborhoods, which is disgustingly incendiary but apparently legal. What I want you to notice is how the police respond to counterprotesters. In one scene, a woman is thrown onto a truck loading platform by one cop, while another violently jams his nightstick into her stomach.
I'd like to see the whole video before editing, but even with this pro-police vid, you never see any counterprotestors do anything that warrants such treatment.

You DO, however, get to hear the news videographer lecture the counterprotesters for not having a permit.

DU lawyers out there, do you NEED a permit to counter a protest?

at any rate, the level of fascist crowd control is chilling, and keep in mind this is a pro-minuteman, pro-police vid, and you still see it. I wonder what we're NOT seeing.

5. Minuteman
Why are these guys suddenly the law? They have no oversight. Government needs to pull them down & take over this issue. We cannot have vigilante groups out there no matter how good their intentions. This is just like communism. Sounds wonderful on paper, but it is abused by the men who run it.

6. they referred to themselves as a "law enforcement group"
which the news reporter supported and allowed them to do so without challenging them, as they did the counterprotestors.
