1. I've always found that stupid statement really fucking irritating.

Of course "you know what you're gonna get" with a box of chocolates.

4. The chocolate box as metaphor for Schroedinger's cat.

Like Schroedinger's cat, you know you're going to get a cat when you open the box, you just don't know if it's alive or dead. Same thing with the chocolates -- you don't quite know what kind of chocolates you're getting. The chocolately possibilities remain in theoretical supposition until you open the box. Of course the solution is obvious. Pass a truth in labeling law requiring chocolate makers to put the little guides on the outside of the box. Now if we could only do the same with the quantum cats.
