Southern Baptists to pick new "leader" this week
Per an AP article, the Baptists commence their two day meeting tomorrow in Greensboro, North Carolina. There are three candidates for President. Per the article one just doesn't provide enough money to the central office; another just hasn't been very clear on his degree of hate and intolerance. A late entrant is Jerry Sutton an influential conservative (he should be so proud) from Nashville Tennessee. To quote the article:

"Some believe Sutton's candidacy is the last gasp of a conservative SBC leadership faced with aging congregations and a message that does not reach young worshippers, who want either a more charismatic experience or a more welcoming approach."

The last gasp of the hate and intolerance of the Southern Baptist Convention? When Pigs Fly!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is scheduled to speak at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention next week in North Carolina.
Last year President Bush addressed leaders of the nation's largest Protestant denomination for the fourth time.

The Nashville-based Southern Baptist Convention has more than 16 (m) million members. It is second in size in the U-S only to the Roman Catholic Church.

4. The perfect candidate is
the kid on the porch with a banjo in "Deliverance."

My guess is he's smarter than most of them, but he'd probably lose due to his lack of hatred.
