Gen Batiste on Hairballz
Tweety has Gen Batiste - one of the recently retired generals who have been speaking out against Rumsfeld - and an Admiral John Hudson, who I know nothing about..

Tweety's trying his god damnedest to make it seem like this is a case of a few bad apples. Batiste is saying the perps are indeed criminals, but that the issue is MUCH higher .....

1. The initial reporter said the exact opposite
Jim M. said that the Iraqis were not angry but more numb since this happens so often. That had me reeling! Few bad apples my ass. It could be much bigger.

4. Miklashevski?
Or however his name is spelled.

I can't figure him out. Soemtimes he seems genuine and other times he seems .... sympatico with the powers that be.

2. Tweety's tweaking the wrong General.
Batiste will be all over him like a cheap suit. I'll watch it after Democracy Now. Thanks for the heads up.

the fault is with leadership

Tweety throwing out some BULLSHIT theory that the vistims are the enemy.

8. Something interesting about that exchange
McCafferey just said that W had no questions but took in all of what was said in their meeting of today. He framed it like that was a good thing. But to me it's another example of the "incurious" W. No questions. Well, I have one - How the F could he have NO questions? and I have an answer, too. Today's meeting was window dressing.

12. Geez, eleny ... that's as obvious as that big wok haning in my kitchen!
The same wok I'd love to prepare sauteed butt of bush. :)

Did you hear them say Rove was there??????

Bush probably had no clue what the generals were even talking about.

Incurious, indeed.

16. Even Tweety was saying...
"What the HELL was Rove doing there?" Good question, if all he's supposed to be doing now is politics and not policy.

7. McCaffery saying bush was 'on recieve' with respect to
what the generals had to say.

Rove was present, Hadley was present. "They stayed in the background"

9. Rove was there. That erases any doubt.
Window dressing meeting, just like those photo ops with the former State and Defense Seretaries.
