Al Gore’s mojo and making it happen in 2008.
Maybe you want Al Gore in 2008 because of his current movie and initiative on climate change. Maybe because of his personal responsibility for the Kyoto Accord. Or because of his courageous stand in 2002, opposing the Iraq War Resolution when he was considered the presumptive favorite for the 2004 nomination. Maybe his unique political contribution to the creation of the Internet. His important work for clean water and clean air in Congress. Maybe because he is a winner, prevailing in every election for which he has stood. Or because of his outstanding record on national security. For whatever reason, a burgeoning number of people are supporting Gore for 2008. Al Gore has definitely got his mojo working.

Volunteering for a great candidate is a euphoric experience for many. If enough of us do it, Gore’s chances of refusing decline proportionally. And with a tsunami of grassroots support… well, you get the idea.

This is what AlGore.org is about. Getting Gore restored to his rightful place in the White House. Our party, our nation and our planet need him. Please do two things:

1) Go to AlGore.org and volunteer; and
2) Contact our campaign at [email protected]

N.B.: Please note your community (& phone number if you like), your time availability, your volunteer interests and background/experience.

We are organizing for his new movie. To learn the movie opening date in your area:

AlGore.org is a grassroots organization. The site and its PAC "The People, Not The Powerful 08" are not affiliated with or authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.

1. I'd do just about anything
to get out the word about "An Inconvenient Truth" and encourage Gore to run.

3. Count me in
I have KC covered for you. You have my number.

As for availability, one more cause will enrich my life immensely.

Volunteer interests - anything political.

Background/experience - I knocked on doors for Kennedy. Is that good enough? :)

Our DFA group is going to see his movie on June 16 here in KC. Let me know if you are interested. I think we are getting discount tickets. DUer kiteinthewind is making the arrangements.

5. I hope he doesn't run

I think Gore is a great guy, can't really think of anyone better on the environment to my way of thinking, but even though he won by a thin margin I didn't think he ran a strong enough campaign to warrant sending him back. I think both Gore and Kerry could have won if they were halfway decent campaigners, but a combination of their poor campaigning, right wing attacks, and their positions hurt them.

I think that somebody like Feingold who more clearly defined his positions on stuff has a better chance. Gore lost in this state that almost ALWAYS went Democrat before, in part due to his overwhelming support of NAFTA and Globalization, and in part due to his support for gun control and a national gun owners ID card.

A guy like Fengold I think has a better chance. While he is liberal democrat on most of the liberal issues that the heartland agrees with, he is also strong on individual liberty with his opposition votes to gun control legislation, and the Patriot Act. In addition he seems to be more where most american workers are on trade and immigration that I would expect Gore to be. In addition I know a lot of swing voters and most hate Gore but when I run some of Feingolds positions by them and tell them a bit about him the response is overwhelmingly positive. Bill Richardson seems also to get a good response, but not as good as Feingold.

I think Gore is better doing what he's doing. Defining some of the issues rather than being pres. I DO think he should be EPA head though.

6. One correction, Gore won.
That's a fact.

Also, IMO, he ran a good-to-excellent campaign. Otherwise, I cannot explain how he came from about 20 points behind Bush in March 1999, to actually passing Dubya on election day.

But I share your admiration for Feingold. Besides Dean, Gore and Conyers, he is my favorite Democrat on the scene today.
