Republican Party Donates $100 per U.S. Citizen to the Democratic Party
Edited on Fri Apr-28-06 10:37 PM by iconoclastic cat
Let's say you're walking down the street and you spot a greenish bit of paper lodged under a shrub. Your curiosity and intuition get the better of you, and you double back to pluck it out. Bending down, you touch the silky, dry fibers and realize that you are not simply beautifying your environment by picking up stray trash: You have found a dollar bill. You slowly smooth it out, pinching it on both ends and pulling it taut, and there you see him: Ben Franklin, grinning his big, green, $100 grin.

You glance around furtively, wondering what poor person has dropped this sizable chunk of change--but no one is in sight. Freed from your guilt, you begin a process of elimination: Specifically, how will you eliminate this $100? Think about that for a moment. Will you squirrel it away in your savings account? Pay off a credit card bill?

Be honest. You're buying beer.

Whatever you do, you're most likely going to be frivolous.

I would like to propose the option of malicious frivolity.

If these condescending, lying, evil creeps that call themselves Republicans do, in fact, give everyone $100 rebates to placate the pain of $3 or $4 gas, donate it directly to your local Democrat.

See yourself doing it. Feel the weird mixture of vicious glee and hope.

Then write letters specifically thanking the Republicans for this $100 dollars that you are donating to your local Democrat. Write to them, the editors of your local paper, blogs, and forums. Call in to radio talk shows. Deadpan it. "I'm just calling to thank President Bush and the Republicans for this $100 gas rebate which I am donating to ____'s campaign. Thanks!"

Take that $100 and stuff it back in their faces.

How 'bout it?

If you like this idea, spread it around.

And don't think about beer.

3. Actually, it's going over like a lead balloon with conservatives
But for some reason Chuck Schumer is humoring the idea:

5. $100 wouldn't even cover this winter's HEATING increase
for ONE FUCKING MONTH. The $100 bride they want to give us has already been spent many times over.

23. 100 dollars is such a joke
It wouldn't buy more than two weeks of gas for a family in los angeles, if that. And the money would still go to the same price fixing oil companies. Congress needs to get off it's butt and enact some meaningful legislation to either tax windfall oil profits or regulate the energy industry so that consumers aren't taken advantage of.

12. Outstanding idea!
5MM people sending that to the DNC to fund a Democratic Congress and ads exposing these bastards. Hell, I'd do it...just to see unintended consequences. They really hold the American people in suh low contempt that they think they can buy us off with a C-note.

19. So lemme get this straight...
These assholes are offering me MY $100.00 back (because I'm assuming it's coming from tax revenue) so that I can essentially pump it right back into my gas tank (giving me MAYBE two full tanks), which in turn sends that money RIGHT back to the oil companies? So this is just YET ANOTHER direct loot of the treasury into the oil companies pockets? These mother fuckers are just being BLATANT at this point. Holy god.

25. THE $100 BRIBE IS A JOKE.
The money they're giving you is your own tax money that you will have to report as income. So they would be taxing your taxed money again. The $100 would have to be borrowed money so you'll get to pay it back plus interest. It's an absolute joke! Plus they shouldn't drill in ANWR ever be cause of the enviroment, also it wouldn't get to the pumps for 8 to 10 years. IT'S ALL A REPUBLICAN FAILURE!

26. GOP is BORROWING $100 per taxpayer
Guess who has to pay the loan back? Guess. Think about it.

We are in a major deficit, so those $100 bills, are loans that WE have to pay back.

What a clusterfuck

28. $100 is a joke; won't even put a dent in the amount we have to spend
for gasoline any more. $100 to bribe us to let them destroy ANWR. Feh.

I don't think it will fly. But if it does, you damn betcha that money is going for some Democrat's campaign, and I hope everyone else that can afford it will do the same -- and let the Republican idiots know where the money went. Thanks, fools.

idea better!! Instead of simply telling my local (Repuke) Congressman to "shove the $100 joke up your ass", I'll gladly forward it to my local Democratic opponent of the evil Repulican lying machine.

Great idea - kicked & recommended!

32. Good Idea...that inspired me with another one too.
We could do something (?) along the lines of printing $100.00 bills
on one side and our propaganda (actually the truth) on the other side.
Then drop them along the way for people to find. Much cheaper and effective. We should actually do both because word would get out that the fake bills contained propaganda. If me also had real bills too... people would continue to pick them up...then put them back and fool someone else...especially if they were Dems.
