Hannity on gas prices
Last night on "Majority Report," they played a clip where Sean Hannity blamed the high price of gas on the taxes assessed by the Democrats in Congress.

Apparently, twelve years of controlling Congress isn't quite enough time for the GOP to set their own tax levels (which, to my knowledge, are currently far below what any other Western nation pays). And somehow those sneaky Democrat bastards have managed to nearly double the price of gas during Bush's term (and without increasing those taxes).

No wonder the Repubs have all forsaken their term-limit pledges. I guess it will take a dozen more years until they can fix everything.

2. God how I wish I could compare the IQ of his audience to mine
And then get the results published in the main stream media. It would be laughable.

3. Last I heard, Federal taxes on gas were...
about 18 cents a gallon, raised under Reagan, aand twice under Clinton. Since 1981, the Federal tax has been raised by 8 cents.

So, where'd the rest come from?

6. Those lies won't sell anymore
People are getting fed up with the GOP. Not only for their policies, but with the lies that spew forth from the RW propaganda machine. An impervious 25-30% will buy whatever pablum Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage et al dole out. The remainder either see it as lies or are sophisticated enough to know that with the GOP controlling all branches of the gov't, it's actually THEIR inability or unwillingness to deal with pocketbook issues that affect Americans on a day-to-day basis. The ultimate result of the lies and (at best) half truths from bottomed-out and discredited propagandists and do-nothing politicians will be a backlash at the polls. Not to mention the lead weight effect of Bush, who has become politically radioactive. LOTS of Republicans will either stay at home or vote Democratic this fall. This could be even more sweeping than 1994.

7. Question from section 402 row 26 seat 14
(The Nosebleed seats) If that was the case, and the oil companies are celebrating record profits, shouldn't the Democratic Party be swimming in campaign contributions from them? Sean? Sean? Free Republic? Bueller? Bueller?:)

9. Notice, the oil refineries in Louisiana
were not in the trendy, higher-priced neighborhoods . . . I'm going to start a movement for all those people who are upset about the high real-estate taxes in their areas . . . start building nuclear power plants and oil refineries upwind and upstream from their homes . . . as the years go on, their property values will plummet, causing their real estate taxes to go down . . . that should make them happy, as well as their mutated kids with the extra limbs . . .
