White House: Tony Snow's remarks PROOF they "listen to different voices"
Edited on Wed Apr-26-06 08:55 AM by Bush_Eats_Beef
Take THAT, you bastids...The White House proves they have an open mind and respect the public's right to dissent by HIRING A GUY FROM FOX NEWS. USA! USA! USA!

Bush names Fox pundit as new spokesman
Snow has been critical of administration in the past; replaces McClellan

Snow, a Fox News commentator and speech-writer in the White House under Bush’s father, has written and spoken frequently about the current president — not always in a complimentary way. While Snow is an experienced Washington hand, he is an outsider when it comes to Bush’s tight core of advisers.

The Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank, circulated unflattering observations by Snow about Bush. “His (Bush’s) wavering conservatism has become an active concern among Republicans, who wish he would stop cowering under the bed and start fighting back against the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Wilson,” Snow wrote last November after Republicans failed to win the governor’s race in Virginia. “The newly passive George Bush has become something of an embarrassment.”

Last month, Snow wrote that Bush and the Republican Congress had “lost control of the federal budget and cannot resist the temptation to stop raiding the public fisc. (treasury)”Snow, in an Associated Press interview on Tuesday, said: “It’s public record. I’ve written some critical stuff. When you’re a columnist, you’re going to criticize and you’re going to praise.”

Unofficially, the White House tried to put the best face on Snow’s criticism, suggesting it showed that the administration listens to different voices and noting that Snow’s job called for him to be opinionated.

:silly:

The WH was caught totally off-guard by all of this and are now spinning like mad to put the best lipstick on this pig.

Since When has the WH EVER respected differing opinions, especially about the pretzeldent?

I thought it was treachery to criticize a "Commander-in-Chief during wartime"

5. I'm actually enjoying this.
Listening to the morons on CNN this morning going on and on about Snow's intellectualism made me laugh. If anyone's buying this bullshit they're an idiot. I think it's funny because the talking heads are trying so HARD to make it seem as if Snow's some sort of dissenting voice that will tell the truth. Please.

It's fun to watch them fall all over themselves while they spin.

6. Sounds like (from your description of CNN)
"pick us next! Pick us next! We're good at toadying and ever so compliant! We want to be on your team, GOP! "

7. It did have that ring to it -
one of their own hit it big so they were all excited for him and want to be him. Maybe they'll build a statue of him and pray to it daily.
