5. I HAVE an economy car

It costs me now about $45 to fill up. I have to drive 150 miles back and forth to work. I cannot take mass transit (none) or car pool (nobody lives near me). What am I supposed to do? I cannot bicycle back and forth to work at nearly 60 years old in all kinds of weather.

I am sure Bush would LAUGH at my situation, just as he did at that woman who had to work at 3 part time jobs. Only the RICH matter to that bastard.

7. Same here. $84.00 yesterday to almost fill

the tank. I never thought we would ever need 3 cars for the 2 of us but considering what I do I need this truck, he needs the 4 wheel so we will be looking for something used with better gas mileage. It is costing me close to $400.00 a month now and that does not count filling the tractor.

18. That's a difficult situation; but at least you have an economy

car. Those who finally decide they can indeed get by with an 'economy' car will now be facing stiffer prices for such cars. That's being hit twice or being between the rock and the hard place.

Shrub should be required to pay for the gas he uses whenever he goes anywhere for other than official business--and to me, that'd mean paying Air Force One's fuel bill when he flies to Texas for one of his multi-annual many week vacations.

Cleveland news today also reporting that pawn shop business is up with people needing gas money. Owners said some people do return and redeem their items but more and more are NOT!

Money is tight for most Americans. I am disabled/retired and I am very thankful but I have sympathy for my family members and all others that have to get to their jobs.

I only drive twice a month and less than five miles. My car is a 93 Saturn SC2 and doesn't use much gas. But when my car breaks down I cannot afford to repair/replace it. I cannot walk or ride/pedal a bicycle so I will then be completely screwed.

We have lost all our local stores for shopping and thanks to Federal budget cuts we have lost our Senior transportation and the meals program in my community. I hadn't used either but now if I would need them, they are GONE!

husband being pushed out of job..income will be cut, one more child at home in highschool to support and always the worry that pension will conviently be underfunded and disappear someday in the future, to young for Social Security to kick in for 6 more years, but at least we can sit here at home and split the wood for next winter and garden to have something to eat!

And Little Boots is out mountain biking today. He had to fly to California to do it and hold up traffic in every direction for 10 miles, each of those cars idling and wasting gas while "The Great Decider" poses for pictures on his bicycle. :eyes: Have I said lately how much I hate that SOB? I just answered another thread here on DU where everyone was strongly complaining about the price of groceries going up so high and theyre redicing the package contents at the same time! The current prices are mostly due to oil prices and it's going to get MUCH WORSE!

I don't have to worry about the price of gas for my car, I'm damn lucky. But what about all the related costs? I am still lucky in that regard as I've got a good job at a university. But what if all the students stop coming for classes bcs gas (and everything else) is too expensive? And what about people who don't have savings on to lean on, who are barely making it as it is. What will happen to them?

I am afraid of a violent class war between the lower and middle classes.

today reported that the country can EASILY afford to pay $4 a gallon. Had to listen to the shit as I was at a military installation (whatever happened to AFN?????). Then the stoopid ass says that Rummy can't resign or have dimson fire him as the country....(WARNING - STUPID APPROACHING!) won't be SAFE without him. WTF???? I laughed out loud in front of all the enlisted guys and asked, Since when does ONE person, a civie yet, make this country UNSAFE? I then quickly added.....of course, if we are speaking of dimson, then yes, we are UNSAFE as HELL with him NOT resigning....., but Rummy, PUULLEEEEEZZZZZ!

Had quite a few weird looks at first, but then had several guys come up to me later and agree...even some with lots of stripes! LOL!!

Back to the gas.....how the hell do they expect folks who make minimum wage and ALREADY work 3 jobs to make it? Now, it looks like the war on the middle class has escalated to ALL levels of America. Even the illegals working for $3 an hour won't make it and hell, they'll probably stay in Mexico as it'll be a better place to be than here if Bushco is allowed to continue.
