What will be the comeback state for Dean?
New Mexico? Arizona? Michigan? Wisconsin? Personally I think my state Washington will be the comeback state for Howard Dean. Washington has a history of voting against what the media tells them. For example Tsongas etc.

5. It won't be Michigan
Dean was 16 points ahead there a few weeks ago but a new poll released has Kerry ahead by double digits now. I saw the article here tonight but don't know where now.

14. Many votes were cast before that poll. I think Michigan will be
interesting. Especially since many of the candidates spent little time in a state hard hit by unemployment and rising health care costs. I can't wait to see where it ends up. :hi:

21. Didn't realize they had early voting
Still the numbers look pretty grim for Dean. The article didn't show the poll, only that Kerry had a double digit lead and that 4 weeks ago Dean had a 16 point lead. Hard to say when that decline started. It didn't happen overnight.

If it's not, it's all over.

16. Hello From Maine!
You may be right, but I don't think so. We actually think that the whole thing may end right here, especially if Kerry somehow manages to run the table tonight.

If JK wins everything this week, 7 tohight, 2 on Saturday, and here on 2/8, I think that it will be over. I do acknowledge that the chances of this are remote however.

23. Another Mainiac here.
I think you're right about that. Perception counts a lot in politics and if Kerry continues to run the table, it will be an pretty easy move to support Kerry in Maine.

8. Actually, since Dean was counting on a win in Michigan
to be his comeback, and using that to justify skipping the 7 states tomorrow, I'd venture to guess there is not going to be a comeback.

He made mistakes in Iowa that hurt him, and he's not had time to recover. He took a gamble by pouring most of his money into IA and NH and lost that gamble. His negative and divisive tactics are backfiring with voters instead of helping him.

He's sinking like a rock. It's just a matter of time.

11. The man's spent $40 mil already. $40 mil. Amazing, isn't it?
I'm just shaking my head over this. 40 million dollars. It could've gone to beat Bush. Now it's just gone. Ok, one more time and then I'll quit. $40 mil. My God.

19. NOT Wisconsin
Great sig by the way. I'm guessing you haven't been to your cabin in quite sometime, because I hear nothing but amazing things from the Clark campaign in Wisconsin. They are really the only campaign that has a good following going on. I look for Clark to take Wisconsin.

Right now, there's no way of knowing which states will be comeback states for Dean. But I'd be willing to bet that we're in for some surprises.

He'll be coming back there after Tuesday, given his foolish strategy of not contesting tomorow's states.

18. Hi from your neighbor, Oregon, and I wish we had a primary
Lots of Dean supporters over here. But then again, Oregon has always been a state that prides itself on making up its own mind. In other words, the media doesn't have the right to pre-empt our decisions.
