Wes Clark on CSpan RtotheWH NOW!!!!!
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 06:16 PM by Gloria
Going right into 2006 and how America is in danger...

BTW, a few minutes ago, on FAUX, the repeated comments Clark made earlier today when he was on doing analysis....

2. Wes is doing an excellent job defining Democratic family values.
Good Jobs, Health Care and even speaking to the diversity of thought contained within the Democratic Party. :applause:

3. I'm not impressed with his speech
Clark is much better on FoxNews style interviews than on gving stump speeches. Too many pauses, and thinking through his memorized speech. He is a very genuine person but he definately needs more polishing.

4. The man is not "thinking" through a "memorized" speech.....
The General had no notes. But you are right....he was "thinking"...which is what one does when one does NOT have a memorized speech.

To be brutally frank with you.....Wes was just fucking talking as he went.....that's why he was able to answer all of those fucking questions from the audience....cause he actually fucking THINKS....and then responds.
(sorry if I get excited about this particular criticism about Wes Clark...but that Corporate instilled meme has really just got to go. He was as sincere as they come....and these, days, that ain't too often)

btw, Wes Clark is as "polished" as he needs to be. Biden, on before him is what some would call "polished"...and after suffering through Biden to see and hear Wes Clark....I conclude that I'd rather "Unpolished dialogue" with someone intelligent and concerned.....any day!

5. Clark gave a great speech for the Democrat's Saturday Radio reply to Bush
It got much more media attention than Bush's speech got. Those were prepared remarks and Clark delivered them with power and sincerity. Here Clark actually talked about the issues with real live people, and the sense I got was that they felt listened to and taken seriously by Clark, even in the give and takes after Clark left the podium. Clark doesn't talk down to people and he doesn't launch into a prefab stump speech when he isn't campaigning.

6. Is Clark too nice?
Clark says the right things, but does he have the stamina to win?

Is Clark bombastic enough to take on the Republicans?

8. Bombastic......the General?
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 07:30 PM by FrenchieCat
The General is a strategic fighter who doesn't have to wear his "toughness" on his sleeve in order to pander for a vote. Wes Clark is a diplomat and a statesman....but always, always, always, he will be a soldier, first and foremost. After being in the Army for 34 years and rising to the top in each and every endeavor that he has participated in by doing what's right....Wes Clark will kick some thugPug ass when required...cause sometimes that's what it takes.

Listen to what he has to say about that here.....
http://www.dunckleystreet.com/clark/shitout.mp3

When he told that audience that this country was in danger from within....and you saw his eyes burning as he said it...he wasn't giving an indication that it wasn't something he couldn't handle....he was letting us know that it MUST be handled; our democracy here at home, I mean.

Did you watch it?

7. Yep....wasn't sitting around say "now Folks".....like Biden was...
If I had been in that Audience where Biden was talking, I would have had to leave. Before I left, I would have had to raise my hand (though he didn't take any questions) and would have had to say.....that I knew that Iraq wasn't a fucking imminent threat....yet most of you "folks" in Washington didn't seem to have a clue. What was up with that? You "folks" retarded or something?

9. Channeling?
Did you hear me yelling that at my TV? And then there was the part about holding people accountable...that was certainly a knee-slapper. How many supplementals have come before congress, and has Biden ever..ever.. asked for the administration to justify the $$$$? Hold them accountable my ass...

Shit! now I'm getting all worked up again.

14. Not at all
I wanted to return to finish our conversation, but ended up making dinner and chores.

The conversation was just getting down to the nitty gritty, and should be continued at different time. They'll be time.

19. I don't think I've ever heard him say "ya know" while he speaks.
Believe me, I've heard plenty of the Dems say that.

Clark writes his own speeches and hardly ever uses notes. Many of the '08 candidates have their own speechwriters and they say the same things over and over again. If they dare to take questions, I can usually predict their pat answers; I don't come away with having really learned anything. Clark always gets me to thinking. His take on China was certainly interesting.

26. What you saw was Clark as teacher
not a 'stump' speech. Clark can be a firebrand speaker when the venue calls for it. This venue had a different focus.

Firsthand reports from the event indicate that he delivered exactly the right message in just the tone that was appropriate for the venue and audience.

These Democrats were looking for a discussion, not just an exhortation.

16. He Was Especially Brilliant
And it was interesting to see and hear him intereact with audience members afterwards. As someone who has had the opportunity to do this, I saw how he has the ability to make the person he is talking to feel like what they have to say is very important, that they are important. He truly cares about this counttry, and the people here, and around the world.
Oh, and I am sick of people pissing and moaning about Wes. And I wouldn't dream of coming to a political message baord as a new member spewing shit about someone who is loved and revered by that board. It's just common sense not to beahve that way. You can be a new board member, and express alternative viewpoints in an intelligent manner, . . . or, not.

It amazes me how much he knows, and how succinctly and clearly he can speak about complex issues on a WIDE range of topics.
