I have a Democratic friend who is dismissing Lamont as a "fringe candidate"

Can anyone help me out with talking points that disprove this garbage CW?

1. How is he standing in the polls right now?
At least he seems to be doing well enough for a certain Vichy Democrat to be annoyed.

2. I'm not sure there has been a poll yet.
It woudln't be good yet either. I'm sure he has low name ID at this point.

3. Ask him/her what a "fringe" candidate is...
Because he may be for choice, a clean environment, good jobs at decent wages, not getting into preemptive wars, etc., perhaps that puts him in the "fringe"....
