Delay's defeated Repug primary opponents won't support him

Defeated GOP primary opponents refuse to endorse Rep. DeLay

By Peter Savodnik and Andrew Barr

The three Republicans who unsuccessfully challenged Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Texas) in a recent primary either are saying they will not endorse him in the general election or are waiting to make up their minds.
Some political observers believe the lack of unity among Texas Republicans could hamper DeLay’s effort to retain his seat and question DeLay’s decision to lambaste his primary opponents soon after beating them earlier this month.

3. Helps having Diebold on your side, doesn't it Delay...
Doesn't anyone wonder how Delay got 62% of the Republican vote in the primary?
Was there any exit polls taken in Texas 22?

4. No media exit polls for Delay primary, I did find this however
Edited on Sat Mar-18-06 05:50 PM by MissWaverly
First DeLay tried to change the House ethics rules on indictments. Failing that, he had to take a temporary leave of absence from his majority leadership position. Then Abramoff made it impossible for him to compete for the job. Now the polls in TX-22 are showing that Nick Lampson has a 30-22 lead on Sugarland's finest, with 27% still undecided and the Hammer with a 28% approval rating. He is likely to lose his seat altogether. The irony in all this: Tom DeLay was responsible (illegally so) for adding five Republicans to the House in 2004 by redistricting. He was generous (arrogant) in adding some Democrats to his own district. Couldn't happen to a worse guy.

5. I'll believe it the day after the General Election...
...if he can do all that and STILL get 62% of the reThug base, then I smell something like a week old herring in Texas 22.

But if he does, I'll be all smiles...

7. I agree but I still think the media should have had exit polls here
it would have been news and would have been a barometer against election fraud, there
was rumors of funny business when he ran back in 04 as well.
