WOW! Anti-Darwin Bill fails in Utah
There must be something to this evolution stuff.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/28/national/28utah.html?_r=1&th&emc=th&oref=slogin

The republican controlled house of representatives in Utah voted down a bill which would challenge evolution in science classes. Maybe some of the elected republicans are evolving into thinking, contemplative human beings. But its a real slow process.

9. Well, yes and no.
"Ain't evolution grand?"

On the upside, it took swamp goo and turned it into redwoods, dogs, and liberals.

On the downside, it took swamp goo and turned it into cockroaches and Republicans.

6. If they are afraid of getting voted out
in Utah, that is incredibly good news. And if that is true, they are not voting their convictions, just their careers. Oh well, progress.

and held themselves up to the ridicule that they deserve.

The fact that so many voted for it- and so many others are stupid enough to turn their backs on science, means that the state and the Republicans (and some Democrats) all across the country as a whole, need to have a healthy dose of scorn heaped on them.

As it is, they now get a pass- until they bring the issue up again- and again- possibly below the radar.
