March 19th / 3rd year protests?
I know that March 19 marks the 3rd year of the Iraq war (I refuse to use the word "anniversary" because it implies a good occasion)... I am planning on going to DC to protest. I am assuming other people will be there, but I was wondering if anyone had information on FORMAL events during the time of March 18-21.

I'd really prefer to be part of an event NOT sponsored by ANSWER, as I was pretty disillusioned by the general lack of focus. I don't want to go to DC and protest issues related to Palestine, or South America, or Haiti. This is not to say that I don't find these things IMPORTANT, but I am personally of the opinion that these things dilute the message, particularly on this day when we should be protesting the illegal war we have started.

On a semi-related note, is anyone else going to DC to protest the war in March? Anyone coming from Ohio (I'm from Columbus myself)? If any DUers want to hit up a bar or something at night, reply to this message and I'll give you my email address and we can all get together or something!

1. As usual, the news media won't cover it

They'll find some pretty white girl who went missing in some tropical paradise to plaster over the anti-war marches. Maybe they'll find another runaway bride story, or maybe they can find another Laci Peterson tragedy and turn it into a horrible public spectacle and make the lives of those people directly involved a living hell of news reporters, cameramen, and media jackels.

I hate how they ignore real problems in America. One day something will snap. One day.

2. There doesn't seem to be a major organized event, but...

United For Peace has this on their website:

www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?list=type&type=96

And you'll be glad to know United for Peace is no longer cosponsoring events with ANSWER.
