1. Cheney heard a sound behind him and turned around and
fired without paying attention to what he was aiming at, and that's the shooting victim's fault?

4. One of the Ten Commandments of Gun Safety!
"Be Sure of your target and what is beyond."

Nice going Dick! Maybe you should take your buddy hunting for big game with high-power rifles. Knowing Cheney, he would probably still strap the guy to the hood of his car.

3. The statement says that the guy 'Dead Eye' Dick shot
was coming up behind him. I going to reach a little bit here. If your bird hunting you want the birds in front of you and you send in the dogs to flush them out. To get off a shot you have an 'arc' where you are 'leading' the target with the gun. Essentially you are trying to target the air in the flight path of the bird so the shot load and the bird meet in the air. Go to far in that 'arc' to the left or right and you should probably let the target go.
Did the guy come up directly behind Cheney? If he did, it seems questionable that Cheney could swing all the way around to shoot something directly behind him.

If you watch skeet, trap, or sporting clays shooters they usually have their feet planted firmly and swing their bodies at the waist. This keeps them balanced and makes for smooth movement to follow or 'lead' a target.

Something does sound a little fishy. But I am just speculating.

10. I would think so
A 'covey of quail' is just a small group of birds. Quail are pretty small, not larger than a pigeon.
You're at disadvantage if you hunt birds without dogs. With a well trained pointer you can ready yourself for taking the shot. Planting your feet, bring the gun up to position, etc... Give the dogs the signal and flush the birds into the air. Like hunting pheasant or grouse except you have a smaller target.
Skeet, trap, and sporting clays are supposed to simulate bird hunting in its various forms.
Try this. Grab anything that you could hold that would simulate holding a shot gun. Plant your feet for a solid, balanced stance. Feet apart, usually one slightly forward of the other. Bring the "gun" to shoulder aiming directly forward in front of you. Then try to swing as far as possible to the left or right. I would bet that you could swing a little better than 90 degrees left or right without changing stance. Could you swing a full 180 degrees to aim directly in the reverse direction without changing stance? I know I can't.
It is possible that "Dead Eye" Dick changed his stance to swing the gun and bring the sights on this guy. It just seems strange. One possibility is that Cheney simply didn't know what he was doing and wound up shooting the guy accidentally. I know Cheney likes to fly fish and has done so for years. Never heard of him hunting though.

Like I said, I am speculating. Kind of fun in some ways.

5. This goon squad never takes responsibility for anything.
They are all sociopaths and we have given them the keys to the country. I shudder to think of what could still transpire before their bloody reign is over.

11. That old lady Armstrong said, 'I've been peppered before'.....
and she made a point to lay the blame on the victim. She sounds like a real piece of work herself.
