3. Dean is very sure-footedly speaking about Bush and Iran,
general national security issues, warrantless wiretapping, Mehlman's blubbering about who best can protect U.S. citizens, and the Reid-Abramoff connection.

Dean is saying that Cheney's days may be numbered as regards Fitz/Libby/Plame.

4. "Need fundamental election and ethics reform".
He named that first in a litany of what the Dems will do. Party of change. Threw down on Cheney about GJ leak re Plame - said Cheney won't be VP much longer is he was responsible for those leaks.

6. Sticking up for Dems, saying VP and dimson have no
credibility, and have been pitiful on defense.
Talking about Plame, Rove, Libby, and VP's involvement, which
might have repercussions for Cheney, like stepping down.
The "I" word was spoken by Schieffer.

He was in fine form. He said what we all are needing to hear.

That rwinger woman tried to trip him up on Sen. Clinton. Is she too angry. Sheesh.

Howard Dean was just super :)

7. If Libby testified that Cheney approved leak, he has to go!
Dean - find out if true, and if so, VP has to step aside. Won't commit to impeachment - he's being careful - but insisting Cheney CANNOT remain in office if true.

22. When you remove a vice president from office it is by Impeachment
He said the results have to happen without using the noun describing the event.. Cheney HAS to go... IOW he must be Impeached.....That is how most Americans will hear it...

11. LOL! Love the idea of Pat Roberts' head spinning around,
EXORCIST-style.

That he might be a demon from the darkest deepest rungs of Hell is a thought that has crossed many of our minds here lately.

It would explain a lot!

Stay warm up there in that storm.

If its true that Cheney authorized release of classified info., Dean says Chency can't remain in office.

12. I like how agile Dean is with reporters. He defends a Democrat and
an American's right of expression without dissing her opponents.

Dean pretty much owned that interview, IMO.

17. True. The media have been disrespectful of Dr. Dean from the
early days of his campaign, and he knows now how to keep them at bay.

Kudos to Dr. Dean.

14. He was very good
He controlled the interview, did not let them put words in his mouth, and stuck to his points.
He also diverted from the stupid "angry Hillary" question, and stuck to real topics like Katrina, Iraq.
Howard is doing a great job supporting Dems and pointing to the failures of the admin.
Nicely done.

19. Dean's FTN performance convinced me to finally sign up for Democracy Bonds
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 11:49 AM by flpoljunkie
I, too, want a Democratic party "beholden only to the people, not the special interests." I have decided to fully support Howard Dean and hope, thereby, to effectively lessen the influence of the corporatist DLC in our party.

http://www.dnc.org/democracybonds.html

Your "Democracy Bond" is a commitment to make a monthly contribution the Democratic Party in order to:

Reform the political process by building a political party beholden only to the people, not the special interests

Build the Democratic Party from the ground up in every precinct so that we can compete everywhere

Win elections in every state and territory of the United States, at every level of office

"Democracy Bonds" are about building a community of Americans with a stake in our common future -- locally, nationally, and globally. They will bond together a person in Alaska and a person in Missouri in common cause for a political process where parties are accountable to ordinary people and their concerns.

You can only buy one bond. You can decide to commit more money per month, depending on what you can afford, but the principle is democratic with a small-d -- one person, one bond. Every person can be a stakeholder in our party.

Governor Howard Dean launched the "Democracy Bonds" program (and bought the first one himself to signify his commitment) because he believes that we can take our country back -- precinct by precinct, block by block, with every Democrat taking responsibility for getting their family, friends and neighbors involved.

The Republicans raise $10 million every month from corporate interests and lobbyists. The Democratic Party will never be able to compete in the traditional ways with a party that has abandoned the people and taken selling access and influence to a new level.

But we can do it if half a million people are giving $20 a month to change the way our political process works.

21. His volunteers were "empowered by Howard" and they helped prove
that one individual can inspire meaningful reform where it is most needed.

Dean has been a plus, a big one, for the Democratic Party.

23. He compared Cheney to Aaron Burr.
"SCHIEFFER: ...the Central Intelligence Agency. And just to make sure
everyone understands what we're talking about, this is that leak investigation
about who disclosed that...
Mr. DEAN: Right.
SCHIEFFER: ...an administration critic Joe Wilson's wife...
Mr. DEAN: Right.
SCHIEFFER: ...was an undercover operative for the Central Intelligence
Agency.
Mr. DEAN: President promised two years ago that he would fire the leaker.
He hasn't kept his promise. Karl Rove is not only still working in the White
House, but he has security clearance. Now it turns out that the vice
president of the United States may have been responsible for those leaks for
political reasons. That is the kind of thing that has not been done to my
knowledge since Aaron Burr was vice president."

26. Someone want to tell Laura Flanders they thought Dean did well.
She said snidely he was "not terrible".

I think she meant because he did not call for impeachment.

So disappointed to hear her and Jerry Springer bash them like that. I seldom listen to either, but we got XM radio. Now I wonder why?
